Hmm. For a long time the font was not even a webfont, it was just a standard web-safe font on people's computers. This may have something to do with the recent bug that I can no longer see bold text on the forum.
This is a problem as you said, but it's not that urgent to fix, because people can always post images here, which can log IP addresses the same way. Even images from Google. Look at a typical thread around here. It probably has three or four images there that load from external servers, which are all capable of logging IP addresses the same way you describe. Unless we enforce all resources to be local too (which is a major bandwidth expense), the IP leak risk will always be there. Yes, it's not a great situation, but that's it for now. Hopefully as the JoS grows, in the long term we can improve this.
HP Zevios Metathronos: If you have time, and it's easy, this would be good to fix. An easy fix might be to simply delete that line of code Jackalope posted. Or, if you like that font, you can download it from that link, then upload to this forum's server and replace that link with the local link. But it's not terribly important, since I know you're very busy.
