Eye problems and Israeli scientists

I noticed that every time they invent some treatment for a vision problem (like corneal transplant and eye drops) most of the time the scientific research is done in Israel. It's a curiosity for me. Why is Israel so involved in treatments for people with eyesight problems?

I remember Pythia saying something about this in the sermon about communism. They want us to use the energy efficient light bulbs which hurt the eyes then go to Yehuborim eye doctors she said most of them are yehuborim. That part I remember.
Not sure why they choose that profession over others. Most Abortion doctors are yehuborim too (note sometimes this is a needed service regardless not saying anything about this) as one might guess as well as psychiatrists as one might guess. Eye Doctors you might not guess though.
