If you have problems with donating

Hello, Family. 🙂
This post is about the people who have issues in donating (not because they don't WANT to, but because they're unfamiliar with crypto, technical problems rise up, etc).

There have been two instances when I had serious trouble in donating.

One time was when I was using Norwegian money, and the crypto platforms wouldn't accept that. I managed to solve the issue with SG Alexandros Iowno directly - and I actually bought HoO rituals with that money.

The second time, which was the hardest, was when I wanted to donate for the raffle.

Two crypto providers had blocked me because they couldn't accept my verification.
I emailed them - but until they got back to me, I decided to try with a bank transfer from the Binance website. When I tried to buy, my card (my bank) rejected the purchase. I called my bank. They said that "(((for your own safety))) we do not cooperate with this platform" (with Binance).
I tried again with the email support of the other crypto providers (that had blocked me). After a few back and forth, the problem was resolved! 🥳🥳 And I bought, not just one, but three tickets for me, and I think around five for other Zevists.

The problem I had with the crypto providers having blocked me required some effort on my part. Also, calling my bank to know why I couldn't buy from Binance was a little nerve- racking because I didn't know what they would ask me (but they didn't ask anything at all; I just realized I wouldn't be able to buy crypto via bank transfer).

Having problems when we try to do something can be irritating - especially when it involves our money, and we feel we are being "cornered" by our banks or the government if they don't allow us to use our money like we want to.
Also, the use of technology doesn't come easy to everyone. I actually had never before used crypto before I followed the instructions of High Priest HoodedCobra in order to create a Wallet and to send my first donation a few years ago.

And when all those problems kept popping up while I was trying to donate for the raffle, I even caught myself thinking that "maybe it's a sign that I should not donate" (!!) while it was clearly a couple of difficulties that I had to actively confront and solve.

My point here is simple. Even if it looks difficult at first, or impossible because of your country's regulations, contact the SGs and ask for guidance. They will help you. Sometimes, though, we need to put some more effort ourselves, like I did with contacting the crypto providers.
If you don't understand the process and need extra directions (after you read HP's initial guide on how to donate), then ask. Our Brothers and Sisters will help you out.

You are not alone in this. Each single one of us had to face a difficulty once or twice (or even more often) with buying and sending crypto. The banks don't want to make this easy for us.

I advice you to treat it like just another thing that needs to be overcome. Don't let frustration discourage you from donating. If you try to deal with it on your own and end up at a dead end, ask in the forums or message our SGs. We will all be happy to help you. 😁

On that regard, when it comes to the customer support of the crypto providers, I used to believe that they wouldn't bother responding, that they would be unreliable, that they would have too much work, etc, etc.

Both the crypto providers I contacted responded to me within a day, and they were very polite and helpful.

Have in mind that these people are doing a job, and they want to have satisfied customers. 😌
So, if you need to message them, don't talk to them in a rude way or accuse them of anything. They want to try help you solve your issue.

Thank you, I'm having a lot of trouble with online banking and transactions: wanting to do it from my PC without using a smartphone, trying to buy crypto directly with my debit card without using apps, refusing to accept verification systems like video calls or photos of my face because I want privacy, glitches and errors with the Exodus wallet, among other things. Not having donated to ToZ since the cryptocurrency was launched makes me feel like a failure and like I'm not doing enough.

No, Brother, don't think like that. 🙏

I remember other members don't want to use the verification system either, so they try other platforms. This is a random search result on this: https://koinly.io/blog/top-no-kyc-crypto-exchanges/ (if I were you, I would do a separate research on the integrity of each separate platform I intend to use)

To be honest, I don't know if it's possible to fit all the criteria you want to, but I hope someone else can chip in if they have more information.
Brother, feel free to open a new topic on your issue, or to even respond to the topic about donating crypto from High Priest HoodedCobra.
I assume your method (I mean, the things you want to avoid like the verification process or a bank transfer), may need more hustling but can be done.

If you create a topic in the forums about it and other members aren't able to help you, you can talk directly to an SG and see other options.

On another note, Brother, if after creating a topic about it and contacting an SG, you see that it's still impossible to donate, you might want to reconsider your limitations. I mean, to reconsider the things you want to avoid doing.

As long as you won't get in danger (like with countries that have strong regulations against crypto), you might want to be a little more flexible *if* no other choice appears for you to donate.

The benefits for donating are so immerse, Brother. Both for the content we receive, and for the active help we give to our Temple.
And even taking a look at the rituals that exist in HoO... wow.

But, of course, the SGs, NGs, and High Priest also tell us how we can offer to our Temple in other ways as well (joining Outreach, helping members in the forums, doing translations, etc). This, of course, requires much more effort than sending a donation. However, it's still another way to offer to our Temple, and to eventually become a member of HoO as well.

If you purchase from an exchange that is regulated, they need to follow KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations, which means sending them a picture of documents, or whatever. It really is not an issue at all, as the benefits far outweigh any loss of "privacy" (there is none whatsoever when you use your personal banking or similar). Be brave, or find an exchange that is unregulated. In which case, do your due diligence finding one that is actually reputable.

So basically, we can use any wallet right? I just need a yes to send, since the ones i have i all verified with ID and all stuff, it just needs to be safe not "extra safe" and i will try sending
I already answered this for you in another topic. Any address-to-address connection in the correct network is suitable.

I remember the Localmonero website where you could buy Monero from private sellers, but they closed it down.

I'll keep looking for a way to do it.

I still remember the old days, when you could donate with your debit card using PayPal and the transaction would go through instantly, without having to give personal information or all the stuff they ask for now.

Those times are long gone as laws and regulations are now the norm. You could still probably get your hands on crypto by P2P, but you would need to search for people in various communities. And again, there are unregulated exchanges, but they most likely do not support credit and debit cards, only crypto to crypto exchanges.

Thank you for posting this.

Truth be told, I really want to donate, but I have been putting it off because of the complications you have mentioned. I have also been unnerved, in addition to not agreeing in principle, with the thought of uploading very private and crucial personal information to a random website. I've heard about breaches and people's data being leaked.

I had actually downloaded and set up a Monero wallet on my PC, only to find that exchanges don't tend to deal with it, anymore. It sickens me that banks and governments are trying their hardest to force crypto into submission, and effectively turn it into another form of regulated online banking. In my opinion, this goes against everything crypto should be about: freedom.

If we could just donate directly, I would, without question. It's not that I can't afford it, or don't want to spend the money.

But, regardless I think I need to get round to doing this. The more I advance, the more grateful I am to everybody here, and the more love I feel for the Temple of Zeus. I've really been wanting to get into the Hall of Osiris for a long time, as I am fascinated by what I've heard about the Rituals and content, on there.

I mean, I have uploaded documents before to a website here and there, for unrelated purposes. I really don't agree with it, but, it is what it is. And after all, the Blessings and benefits that would come from donating, could arguably cancel out any of these negatives, right? I can be a little bit too idealistic, at times...

At this point, buying cryptocurrencies through a regulated service is no different than buying stocks through a bank or broker. These are not "random websites", but multimillion-dollar and above financial operations that have tight oversight and regulations. Sure, there have been scams and so forth in the field, and so have been in the traditional banking industry since the beginning. It is what it is. Do your due diligence before putting money in them, and fret not, as these things are part of our current financial system.

I see. That makes sense.

I have always been skeptical about when they claim that things are regulated for our protection. But, I guess a good part of it is legitimate, for the reasons you've mentioned.

I've had a feeling inside that it's not as bad as I think it is, and I'm worrying and overthinking as usual. So, I just need to get myself together and do it.

Thank you.

What do you think of Bitcoin ATMs that accept cash? I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who has used them.

A healthy amount of scepticism is not bad. In fact, many of the money laundering claims are simply means for the elite to control the masses to not play with the money as easily as they, no more, no less. But overall, those things are for protection. Actually, much of the financial world is loosely regulated, and regulators are reactive, not proactive, but that is another topic to begin with.

I have not personally used them, but many have claimed positive experiences with them. Personally, I have been handling crypto online for over a decade, even through services that ended up being rug pulls by their owners or ceased their operations for other reasons (usually some form of financial crime). These experiences are pre-2018, when BTC was not of interest to investment banks. I simply do not hold my funds in their wallets, and so there is very minimal risk in that regard.
