Exorcism and posession

I would like to understand the posession and exorcism. Is it possible for demons to enter the human mind and posess it? Why would demons do it? Is it a way of punishing enemies of Satan (because posessed are usually xian believers)? 
And regarding to exorcism as we know it from the horror movies and youtube videos - is it really possible to cast out a demon with holy water and xian "prayers"? 
And last but no least, does exorcist have power over a demon if he or she knows his name?

I think what Bryan meant wasn't actually "possession" per se. If one of the Gods of Elysium are invoked disrespectfully, they're not going to take the abuse lying down.

It's like how you would probably never burglarise somebody's home but, if they were to kidnap you off the street and drag you into thwir home but be unable to restrain you, you just might cause some damage on the ensuing whoopass session.

Whereas if a friend invited you over to visit, you would behave, out of respect, because they are your friend.

I think that's what Bryan meant.
