One thing I've noticed overlooked here, is critical thinking. I wanted to share my practices for increasing critical thinking.
The first thing, is to know the logical fallacies by rote. In understanding what logic is not, you'll start to be able to detect and even sense when someone is misaligned with reality. Think of this as logical hygiene.
The second thing, is to learn scientific reasoning. Learn what good logic is, and how to reality test. Now that you know how to have good logic, and how to avoid bad logic, then you just have to strengthen your logic. You can do this, with proper scientific experiment and inquiry. Practicing math and advancement in math can also strengthen what I call the "logic muscle".
It's also important not to be afraid to question everything. You can even question the gods, for I have found they and their ideals hold up to scrutiny and skepticism, it even seems to kind of, cleans up the connection in a way, it's hard to explain, just be respectful still, as our gods are worthy of more than all the respect we can muster.
Another thing to do as well, is to practice this in day to day life. If you notice yourself using a logical fallacy, correct it. In arguments, or when hearing arguments, try to pick out every logical fallacy or false premise or whatever else you can find.
