Hello SS health gurus! Hoping for some assistance around this as it has been a problem for quite some time now. Hoping with your assistance I can nip this this thing in the bud for good.
Was diagnosed with yeast balanitis around a year ago. In addition to that, I've on-and-off been suffering from itching around my anus for about 10 years (which eventually led to the formation of a fissure, but that's since healed) - the itching still comes back every once in a while, though.

For years I’d been to numerous doctors and specialists, tried several procedures, over-the-counter and prescription medications, changes in diet, attempts at natural remedies – you name it – but nothing seemed to permanently cure the problem. Symptoms could be treated and would reside for some time, but eventually rear its ugly head after all had seemed won. Doctors seem to care very little for providing me with a permanent fix and keep prescribing me creams that only treat the symptoms.

I have a prescribed cream I can use, but after the problems reside and I stop using the cream, the problems eventually return. I’ve read that if the symptoms are not treated in its early stages that candida can reach the bloodstream and starting affecting other areas. I've tried going on an anti-candida diet (did that around a year ago), and in the past (and currently) consuming and using topically combinations of a number of different things, like raw garlic, ACV (apple cider vinegar), Pau d'Arco, kefir, coconut oil, clove oil, lemon grass oil, oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, pure cranberry juice, and aloe juice.

I'm kind of stumped... perhaps some of these things I should continue doing longer, others maybe stop? Perhaps using a natural antibiotic like one of the ones HP Shannon suggested in her recent antibiotic post (like colloidal silver, for example)? I also know I haven't been doing enough meditations/healing rituals for this, so I definitely need to get on that - perhaps doing my first ever sun square is in order. I've also never gotten any TCM help around this before, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I am not 100% sure what a fissure is but this sounds like a vascular provlem. Itching can have to do with histine which is a link to the liver. Also high bioelectricity I think can cause crawling sensations or tingling.

Have you tried cutting ALL refined sugar out of your diet? No more coke or light products store bought juices etc. Honey is fine as it is a natural product.

I have a tendency to reply diff than centralforce, i learn a diff concept.

When you started using the natural remedies, coconut oil, ACV, etc, were you just mixing around and not staying consistent with each method? How long were you on these things? Were you bouncing around between your self treatment.
In this case, your data and info, along with details of the ailment, are needed fully. Everyone's case is unique.
It would be nice to get CentralForce's opinion from a TCM point of view.

Also, I do not know the details on your condition but I have seen many cases of people healing themselves fully from those health remedies you listed. Either that or from diet alone. It seems that the ailment is deeper and may have a connection with your body being out of balance, like some sort of auto immune problem or something happening with your gut.
Would need more details.

@taol_van_sherwood - A fissure is a small tear - it kept re-opening after bowel movements, especially if I was constipated. After turning my diet around it went away, but if the itching got worse enough I'd get swelling around my anus causing the fissure to re-open. Since I was prescribed this last cream my anus is in much better shape - haven't had problems with a fissure as the cream keeps the itching away, but just like the yeast balanitis, once I stop using the cream the itching can return.
What exactly do you mean by histine, and the possible connection to the liver?
I could definitely say that when the itching of my anus was at its worst that I get the crawling sensation/tingling. Scratching it would only make it worse.
And yes, I had cut out all refined sugars at one point - about a year ago I did an anti-candida diet which consisted of no sugar, alcohol, anything fermented (eg. vinegar), or anything that was high-carb, like grains. Even cut out starches as an attempt to "starve" the candida. I stuck to low-carb veggies and low-sugary fruits. I even avoided honey and only used stevia if I wanted sweetener in anything. Even now I rarely ever consume sugary anything - the closest I get to sugar is honey and maple syrup. Since I stopped the anti-candida diet, I have of course consumed refined sugar, but it's a rare occurrence.

@johnson_akemiUnless you have AIDS, are on chemotherapy, or otherwise have a compromised immune system you do not need to worry about candida reaching your bloodstream and
I've been tested for AIDS/STDs and came back clear. Pretty sure my immune system is in good check - I rarely get sick and feel healthy and energetic almost all the time.
Yes, I've tried using different kind of soaps and even washing the head of my penis multiple times a day and ensuring I'm thoroughly drying it after. I've done this with the use of the cream, without, with use of natural remedies, without, doing it while not using anything - the latter seems to be worst. It can get really inflamed if I'm not at least using the prescribed cream or my own tincture. I've also tried doing the sleeping without underwear thing, even going about my day with my foreskin rolled up as to keep it as dry as possible (this doesn't work well in my sleep, though - too uncomfortable, or if I fall asleep my foreskin will naturally roll itself back over the head of my penis. During summer I would even let sunlight on the head of penis for about 10min every Saturday and Sunday (weekend) as I had heard that sunlight could help.
It's certainly been tough trying to get past this!

HP Shannon - to answer your questions:
Right now I am using a tincture twice a day (once in morning after a shower, and once again at night before bed) - sometimes a 3rd time in the middle of the day at some point. It's made of the following:- 2 tbsp coconut oil- 15 drops lemon grass oil- 15 drops clove oil- 3 drops oil of oregano- 3 drops tea tree oil- some fresh squeezed aloe from my aloe plant
This tincture is surprisingly working well - it's working almost as good as the cream did. I am currently not using the cream as I wanted to see what difference this tincture would make. The only difference between the tincture and the cream is that I will get inflammation/redness/red spotting on the head of my penis or the inside of the foreskin (I am uncircumcised), but this will only happen after masturbation. It seems that friction is the enemy. Unfortunately, using coconut oil as a lube doesn't work well enough as a means of protection form friction. Oddly enough, for several months when I was with my girlfriend of the time I didn't have any problems - her natural vaginal juices must have kept the candida at bay. Once we broke up and I returned to only masturbating, then the problems returned.
Right now I'm also consuming either once or twice a day a 750ml bottle of water with the following:
- 2 tbsp ACV
- 4-6 drops lemon grass oil- 15 drops clove oil- 15-30 drops grapefruit seed extract- 2-3 drops oil of oregano (but not all the time - just whenever my roommate is around so I can borrow his lol)

Separate from that, I'm consuming the following:- 2 tbsp coconut oil every day
- 60ml (about 30 drops) of olive leaf extract one to two times a day with food- 1-2 cloves garlic per day (however, this is not consistent and I've really only just picked this back up again)- one-to-several spoonfuls of kefir (almost every day)- a small glass of pure cranberry juice around every other day
- 1/4 cup of aloe juice a couple times a week
All of this is what I'm currently doing, and started this about 3 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago I committed to completely cutting out alcohol for as long as needed. I'm also avoiding anything with refined sugar again (if I can - trying to be very strict about this right now)
--------------------
In the past (which I did about a year ago during my anti-candida diet, which lasted about 2 months), I consumed about 2 tbsp of ACV every day. I also used ACV as a wash on my penis, maybe once or twice a day in between use of the cream. For a couple weeks had consumed a couple cloves of raw garlic every morning, but I didn't stick with that as long as I probably should have. Consumed 2 tbsp of coconut oil every day for the full two months. Consumed kefir almost every day. Consumed a capsule or two of Pau d'Arco till the bottle was empty. Consumed high-concentrated probiotics (I think it was around 50 billion) till that bottle was done. That's about all I can remember what I did during this time. Clearly I'm consuming things differently now than I was then. Back then, it was mostly my concern to be consistent with use of the cream while being utterly strict with the diet.
Sorry for the long response - wanted to be as detailed as possible! If you require any further info, please let me know!

TCM views thrush as an accumulation of dampness and and discharge and build up of products on the surface of the body is evidence of this.

Dampness can be caused by diet but it can also come from an external invasion, in which the weakened body is exposed to external dampness such as very hot and humid weather which exceeds normal ranges or catches you when you are already lacking in defensive resources.

In the case of an external invasion, it is very likely that changing your diet will only help to not exacerbate the symptoms but it will not rid you of your condition.

There are some additional questions that I would like to ask, as these pertain to your overall energetic state and will guide the treatment.

Bear in mind that any dampness condition is and will be very difficult to treat and will take a long time of sticking to certain habits and patterns to overcome, even if it seems that the symptoms have subsided.

The manner in which to tell that the disease is gone is to look at the tongue.

Does your tongue have a thick white coat? Or a thick yellow coat?

Or something different?

Do you tend towards feeling hot or cold?

Are your energy levels good or poor?

How well do you sleep?

What is your appetite like?

Do you get headaches? Particularly in the frontal or occipital regions of your head (top of the neck at the back and forehead irrespectively).

The answers to these questions may indicate further steps you may need to take, increase the amount of steps you are already taking and certainly lead to more questions.

I might have misspelled histine or histamine.. It releases when things itch and is broken down by the liver (if I am correct) does sound like a balance problem, but Ill leave it for centralforce here.

@ centralforce666 Thanks for the reply! I can see dampness being a contributing factor for sure. I live in Canada where we can have hot, humid summers, but even in the cold of winter it’s not as dry as one would think. Also, the winter temperatures fluctuate so much – like right now it’s minus -7 Celsius out, but in 2 days from now it’s going up to plus +7 Celsius. Our winters constantly do this kind of thing all the time.   Certainly willing to adapt to any habits/patterns needed, so I welcome any advice you have!   - When looking at my tongue in the morning (no drink/food 15min after waking up), I can sometimes have a bit of a white coating, but not much – and not all the time either - I’d say less than 50% of the time, perhaps? Most of the time it looks like my normal day-time coloured tongue. I have however noticed for the past few months I’ve had tiny little slits along the middle part of my tongue. If you’d like, I’d be happy to take a picture of my tongue in the morning and post it so you can see what it looks like.   - I typically almost always tend towards being cold. I’m tall and lanky, and daily exercise is certainly lacking in my routine. I find my hands and feet are always the first to go cold. I find when I get cold all over that my blood pressure appears to drop drastically – can’t see the veins on the tops of my hands and my hands look white. I can only assume I don’t have the best circulation.   - My energy levels seem to always be pretty good unless I start lacking on sleep. If I have days where I only get 5-6 hours of sleep then it really catches up with me. I do work sitting in front of computer all day, so that coupled with my lack of exercise probably doesn’t help with the stagnation. I do at least do yoga almost every day, but I should get back into doing more cardio. I was hitting the gym 2-3 times a week for a good year or so, but I sort of gave that up around half a year ago and started doing yoga all the time instead. The only times I feel a lack of energy is that I’ll feel a bit tired sometimes right after getting home from work, but that passes shortly after. Again, this only seems to happen if I have 2-3 days in a row where I’m not getting my typical full 7 hours of sleep.   - I’d say I sleep pretty well most of the time. During the work week I typically get 7 hours of sleep – sometimes closer to 6 if I have really busy days, but this doesn’t happen often. I hate mornings, though, and hit snooze about 5 times before I actually get up. On the weekends I will stay up later before going to bed, but will at least get about 9 hours of sleep, and no alarm – I just let myself wake up naturally. For what it’s worth, I wear socks to bed all the time because I get cold feet. I do this for 3/4th of the year, just not in the summer when it’s super hot (I don’t have AC). I also sleep with the window open a crack for fresh air, and a fan on for white noise. Due to this, my bedroom usually stays quite cool (except for the summer time), which I like. I’m not a big fan of sleeping when it’s hot. With my previous girlfriend, it was difficult sleeping with her because I’d get too hot.   - I’d say my appetite is decent. I eat 3 full meals a day. I seem to always have a late start to breakfast (about 1.5-2 hours after waking up), eat lunch somewhat soon after that, have a snack sometime around normal-people’s dinner time, and then cook myself dinner later in the evening so I eat somewhat closer to bedtime (I don’t sleep well on an empty stomach. I find if I have dinner earlier and a snack a bit before bed, my stomach still thinks it’s hungry and I can’t sleep). FWIW, I typically spend a long time eating – I’m not a fan of wolfing down my food. I like to ensure I am properly chewing, and not drinking too much water while eating either so my saliva does its work. I have a pretty high metabolism and gaining weight is basically impossible for me. As such, I tend to eat decent sized meals. Not sure if explaining my full diet is helpful, but if you’d like an general idea around that, please let me know and I’d be happy to share it (didn't want to make this any longer than it already is :p ).   Hope this helps! And thank you so much in advance for the assistance! HAIL SATAN!!

Thanks for the details. With all that being said, it definitely seems like it could be an external influence or some other malfunction in your body not related to just the candida. I am leaning towards all the CF mentioned because of all the candida cases i have come across, those remedies have healed them.
For now, I believe you should start working on healing rituals, affirmations and workings.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to you...

Does your tongue ever appear to be swollen? Or can you notice teeth marks on the edge of your tongue?

Is the tongue body any colour other than pink? (Red, purplish, bluish?)

Do you ever get phlegm congestion in your nose or throat, other than when you have an infectious illness?

Do you get headaches?

No problem! I understand you were likely quite busy :)
I watched my tongue for a few days over this past weekend (again, 15min after waking up, no water/food). Everything looks normal. No White or yellow coating - only the slightest bit of yellowy-white in the middle-back part of my tongue, but only ever so slightly noticeable. Even the tiny slits I had previously noticed on the middle part of my tongue look to be almost completely gone.
No, my tongue never appears to be swollen. And no teeth marks on the edge of my tongue (I have noticed this before, but this would've been many months ago and only lasted for a short time, like a week or two maybe).

I've attached a couple photos I took - hopefully the lighting is good enough!
Yes, I do tend to have phlegm every once in a while in my upper respiratory system (outside of illness). It's not every day, but I do tend to consistently cough up tiny bits of phlegm from my upper lungs/back of my throat. I often find myself clearing my throat. This has been consistent for a very long... basically since I quit smoking 10 years ago. The only times I've noticed this goes away is when I'm doing cardio on a regular basis. As for my nose - no problems there really. Last year throughout the summer I noticed on-and-off build-up of hard, yellow boogers and the inside of my nostrils against the middle bridge cartilage section, which was also quite raw. This start last winter and persisted for almost a year. Had to keep moisturizing that part, but that's now since cleared up.

--------------------------
Question slightly off topic (back to my home remedies) - of the things I'm using/taking, are all these okay? I know with certain things that consistent use isn't always the best, so I'm wondering if it's okay that I keep consuming/topically using all the remedies I previously mentioned.

Also not[/IMG]Often used with #6.</em>

Wondering if it would be helpful to order something like this - or do you think this is kind of taking things overboard with what I'm already doing?
Thanks for all the help everyone!

Can I recommend the following Chinese herbal formula to you?

I took your photos out of the post on the groups so they wouldn't be available to anyone wanting to see them, but I have looked at them - the yellow area appears to be at the rear of the tongue which is indicative of damp in the lower.

The herbal formula is called Wu Pi San or Wu Pi Yin and this should assist with taking the dampness out via urination.

It is a mild formula which should be acceptable for long term use (2-3 months) provided you don't develop any symptoms of heat in the process.

Okay, thanks for removing the pics :)
Awesome, thank you so much for the recommendation! I will definitely give it a shot!
Any suggestions as to where I can order it? I found a few places online that offer it, but it's hard to tell what's reputable and what isn't. I thought about going to a TCM herb provider, but recently read about pesticides found on Chinese herbs bought in Canada. I'm sure this isn't everywhere, but again, hard to know what's reputable. Would rather order online somewhere - if you have any places you could recommend, would be greatly appreciated!
Also, some places I found offer it as a whole herb or as granules. Is one better than the other?
And, which would you suggest in terms of formula %... some are different than others, such as:

https://www.goldenneedleonline.com/Wu-P ... sules.html
20% of each
• Mori Cortex (Sang Bai Pi)
• Zingiberis Rhixomatis Cortex (Sheng Jiang Pi)
• Poriae Cutis (Fu Ling Pi)
• Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Pi)
• Areacae Pericarpium (Da Fu Pi)
 - OR -
https://www.sacredlotus.com/go/chinese- ... wu-pi-yin-
• Mori Cortex (Sang Bai Pi) - 15grams
• Zingiberis Rhixomatis Cortex (Sheng Jiang Pi) - 6g
• Poriae Cutis (Fu Ling Pi) - 15g
• Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Pi) - 9g
• Areacae Pericarpium (Da Fu Pi) - 15g

I am not sure about Sacred Lotus' products although it would appear their decoction ratios are correct.

Golden Needle require you to be a practitioner to order from their website so they may not even be available to you.

KPC is a brand which makes granulated formulas which can be taken in juice, water etc. and these are produced in Taiwan - they have very stringent heavy metal and toxicity assays on their products if you are worried about this sort of thing.

See if KPC have any representation in your area - the brand I typically use is only available in Australia and I tend to order the raw herbs and create my own powders but this is expensive, difficult and there are no guarantees that the raw herb is 'safe' as far as heavy metals etc. goes but this kind of thing typically does not concern me.

Thanks for the reply! Apologies for my delayed response.
I went to a Chinese Herbs place (they have a large selection of herbs, and offer TCM services). They said they could make the concoction for me (which I'd take as a tea), but when I told them you had mentioned taking it for 2-3 months they were very adamant that that was way too long - they said with what they would provide me with should only be taken for 4 days. They mentioned it's better not to take such small doses that has such little effect and take it for such a long period of time (2-3 months).
I wanted to report back here first to get your thoughts/opinions on this.
I also tried searching around online to see if I can find a place that sells KPC brand but could only find ones where you need to be a licensed practitioner in order to order it.

I was outlining the safe amount of time you may take it without causing problems - I would only take it until the condition is resolved and then stop.

I was also talking about tea pills and tablets, not raw herbs as raw herbal preparations are far stronger and should be taken for much less time.

I honestly did not think you would find a place that sells them as raw herbs as where I live there is only one such place and it is very small and obscure and very few people know about it.

Did you tell them that you have had the disease for a long time?

I would ask for at least ten days worth and inform them that you will stop as soon as the symptoms resolve and that you will.be monitored throughout by a practitioner - I would settle for 7 days worth of raw herbs.

The pills or powders you can take for longer as they are much weaker than raw verbal decoctions.

Okay sounds good!
Yeah, I told them I've had it or a long time and they said this method is meant to work fast and not taken long-term. Glad to hear you agree - I wasn't sure how big of a difference the raw herbs would make vs. granular/tablets/pills.
Good news is that the symptoms have vastly declined over the past week. I've been consistent with drinking the oils/extracts in water and using the homemade tinctures for weeks now, plus have been very strict about excluding alcohol and sugar from my diet. It's kept the knight at bay for the most part, which is great. I gradually reduced usage of my tincture/drink and for a short while started a routine of keeping the foreskin pulled back throughout the day while I'm sitting at work/home to keep the moisture away. Today I will be receiving my first shipment of colloidal silver (MesoSilver) which I plan to consume and use topically (if needed). Hope this is okay.
I'll visit the Chinese herbs store again in the next few days and will keep you posted on that.

Thanks for reaching back out about this - you must have been reading my mind :) I'm still suffering from it, unfortunately. Not as bad as before, but still having difficulties.
I tried the exact formula you recommended and used it through to the end with consistent use every day, as directed. Didn't seem to do anything. Only thing I noticed is that after a few weeks or so my consistently sweaty feet I had at the time went away - but I also changed shoes at the time so not sure if my sweaty feet was due to that, the herbs (as you said it's supposed to remove moisture from the lower half of the body), or maybe something else (changing weather from spring to summer?).
I decided to try something new and stopped using my tincture I was applying twice a day (coconut oil as base, clove oil, lemongrass oil, oil of oregano, tea tree oil). Figured maybe the coconut oil was keeping the head of my penis too moisturized - and stopped the tincture as I've been using colloidal silver (I'll explain that below).

What has helped is that I started keeping my foreskin pulled back almost 24/7. Seems the moisture was a problem. Doing this seems to help keep the redness/spotting away from the head of my penis (for the most part), but the problem is that the foreskin part is still red (probably due to moisture because of the extra skin wrinkled up due to being rolled back, and can't breathe/stay totally dry. Also, the redness/spotting still likes to come back after masturbation.
Went camping for a weekend a few weeks ago where it was difficult to keep clean every day and during this time I kept the foreskin naturally unrolled, and upon returning from my camping trip I noticed red spotting came back on the head of my penis, so I immediately went back to keeping the foreskin pulled back. I also started using colloidal silver (mesosilver) by blanketing a square of toilet paper soaked in it around the head of my penis + pulled-back part of my foreskin and letting that sit. I've been putting it on before I go to sleep. I've noticed it seems to be helping, yet very slowly. My head is in better shape, but the rolled-back foreskin bit is still red (although, seemingly getting better... slowly). Was actually going to post on here to ask if maybe I should increase doing this to two times a day or more. And if I should be taking a break after 2 weeks, like you would if you were ingesting it.
For a couple weeks I also ingested the colloidal silver (held under tongue for 30sec before swallowing), 15-30ml, 4 times a day (at least 15min before a meal/2hrs after a meal). Didn't seem to have a noticeable effect, but was only able to do it for 2 weeks (as to not let it build up too much...and because my supply is running low. I'm ordering more soon and want to try it again.
Randomly from time to time I've tried putting organic, natural (unflavoured/unsweetened) kefir on the area for 30min, then washing off. Same with raw honey, or aloe juice/gel straight from the plant. I've only done this a few times, though, and not consistently.

I've stopped drinking my oil infused water concoction I was doing every day (clove oil, lemongrass oil, oil of oregano, ACV) - no particular reason, just wasn't sure if I should even bother.

I've been breathing in healing light (from the sun, when I can) and doing affirmations, but I'm likely not doing this often enough or consistently enough, and should also likely be incorporating more of the other healing meditations Johnson has posted in the past to the groups. I find it tough finding the time in the day to fit everything in, and can be tough making this a daily priority. Thinking I should maybe put other things aside to make this a priority and get healed up, then return to the other things I should be doing daily.

Anywho, If you have any other suggestions for TCM, or anything else as to what I should maybe start/stop/keep doing, I'm all ears. Acupuncture has crossed my mind, but I don't know if such a thing would even be helpful in this situation.

What I am seeing in your reply is that it is not as bad as before which is a good thing and you have had total resolution of one symptom.

Being a long term chronic problem, I would advise running the treatment course of herbs once more, for the same length of time as last time, as sometimes these long term chronic problems require more treatment and dampness by its nature is sticky and hard to get rid of.

If they do not seem to be doing anything when taking them, increase the dose - let me know what way you are taking them, raw or otherwise and I will advise on a suitable dose increase.

Sorry for the delayed response - just back from a nice vacation. Was off camping again, which may have thrown my health off wack again.
The anal fissure returned when having a bowel movement. It only happened once, but the itching has returned. Also, had redness spread around a large area of the head of my penis when I masturbated after coming back from camping. It was very damp/humid where I was, and my diet was certainly different while I was gone.

I will go back to the TCM herb place and do it again. I will be doing it the same way - dried herbs, whole - making them into a tea. If I remember correctly, I would let the herbs sit on simmer in my tea kettle for 45min, which would make about 2-3 cups worth. I would drink 0.5L (or a little more), 4 times a day. Here was the concoction - I got 7 days worth:

15 grams of Sang Bai Pi (Bark of Mulberry Root)
6 grams of Sheng Jiang Pi (Fresh Ginger Rhizome Skin)
15 grams of Fu Ling Pi (Poria Skin)
9 grams of Chen Pi (Orange Peel, Citrus Peel, Tangerine Peel)
15 grams of Da Fu Pi (Betel Husk)
