Do the Gods' rituals directly and pray for guidance. This same process applies for any misalignment with the Will of the Gods, not just the worst ones which damn the soul, but also asking them questions about your current actions and how to improve.

Here is the clear difference: Other people scare you with stories of Hell and extreme pain so they can control you. Zevism and the Gods meet you at your level and evolve you from where you are at, and where you are open, willing, and receptive to grow.

The Gods are understanding of your current position as their child and value your attempts to reach them. They are not going to punish you for situations where you are actively growing. That is not just a matter of being harsh or not; it would be opposed to their stated goals to evolve us.

The same sense of fear which imagines severe punishment to the self can be transmuted to higher receptivity and allowing of the Gods to grow you more than others, as a mentor that you willingly allowed to be closer to you. This goes from avoiding negative change of the self to allowing close positive changes of the self.
