Attracting familiars

I've been wondering about how can one 'send out a call' to attract a certain animal to be his/her familiar. Should I imprint my desires into an energy ball and shoot it out into the universe? Or should I program my aura to attract a familiar? And how exactly does the familiar help in magickal workings?

I haven't had a pet for years, last time I had a bullfrog that I caught in a lake nearby. He (or she?) was cute, even my grandma pet him... I let him go after about 6 months.

Does anybody have an experience in this? I read the former posts about familiars, but I couldn't find this 'call' thing.

Thanks for the answers. I know some Demons provide familiars, but I don't want to bother them with this (at the moment). This is why I asked about the 'psychic call', to handle it myself. Seems like I have to experiment with this.

Anyway, I have another question. The article about familiars says, that a familiar is an animal, inhabited by a Demon. So what do you guys think, does this particular Demon have a physical body elsewhere, or he/she's just a thoughtform created by Father (or another God)?
