There is something else. A former friend of mine is actually working against equal rights. Its an antidiscrimination law around sexual orientation and gender. I recently found out that shes actually constantly exhausted from work, working against this law, and she has a child which has a genetic defect. She has to watch it all night because her son has seizures. Apparently the alarm system doesn't work very well, and she is afraid of him injuring himself.
I haven't said anything about that condition. I just wonder why she hasn't stopped to focus on her own problems. I went to high school with her. But haven't heard from her for years. It didn't dawn on me until recently, her last name...sounds jewish. I am not sure if she is part, or adopted. I never put two and two together. I have heard that jewish people have more problems genetically. Is it really higher than everyone else? Shes also very connected politically, I never new, but shes a friend with the local mayor and the govenor, and vice president of what sounds like a major corporation. I have mixed feeling about her, wondering if she could pull strings for me if I ever needed it, but somehow I don't think so. I haven't seen her for years, and I have very little in common with her now.

I found out that my home town is trying to pass some equal rights legislation, but local religious leaders have organized to defeat it. Its so annoying to me, as from my point of view its just to keep their religion in charge. I don't live there anymore, so can't vote there. But I feel frustrated to see this happen. Its been defeated before. I guess that why its so important to do the workings to limit this. Anything in particular I can do to influence the vote?
