I have a very active mind that is causing me issues to properly meditate. As a matter of fact, I do not believe I have ever properly meditated and I feel this hurting my growth tremendously. I try and sit to clear my mind but I just start thinking about some random crap or something that I have to do happens to pop into mind. I'm mind is ALWAYS racing and I don't know how to quiet it so I can focus. AH that's the word, I'm having a hard time focusing. I would appreciate any tips or methods I can use to help.
One more thing, I have a small mouth with a very short tongue so it's very difficult for me to roll my R's or anything related. Does not being able to roll your tongue inhibit doing the RTR? Also, when I first became dedicated one of the priests (I think it may have been hooded cobra, I'm not sure) providing a PDF to help with a power-enhancing guide for a novice. If that PDF is available I'd really appreciate a link to it. Thank you all for your time! I look forward to the responses. \o/

When you have invasive thoughts it's best not to freak out about them or give them attention. Just re-focus, don't get discouraged, and eventually you'll achieve a quieter mind. try some breathing exercises and you can also try the Dhyani Mudra (Google has pictures) to help you calm your mind. You have to do void mediatation daily.

I can't say anything about the other stuff as I'm not too knowlagable there, but is the 40 day beginner program the one your talking about?
