A new word I think...?

[Moon Gazer]

I have seen the work xian (christian), and xianity (christianity) on the JoS site, as well as the e-groups. I think of the word xylophone. When you pronounce it sounds like it starts with a Z. So I have been saying xian like “ze-ian”, and xianity like “zan-ity”. Has anyone else said it like that, or is it just me? Did I just create a new word? If I did I hope it spreads like wildfire. It’s also funny to explain it to those simple minded xians you come in contact with, when they ask you what you just said.

i think it's just meant to be pronounced as christian and christianity. the x is just a way of shortening it. like xmas.

Xian is just a shortened version of christian. Like xmas/christmas. So i would think you'd just say christian. Sometimes I'd pronounce it 'ex-ian' in my head.

I think I confused everyone, sorry about that. Besides there are MUCH more important things in this group to talk about, so let’s not spend too much time on this. I was just saying that when I pronounce xian, it sounds like it’s starting with a z. I was being playful about it; I know it’s not a new word. I just wanted to see if anyone else said it like that. It’s nice to know if others are like me.
