The 7th house has always been related to marriage, enemies, and other people. However, is there more to it?
In High Priest Hooded Cobra's Numerology post He stated that the Number 7 is related to "Karma, consequence, Goddess Nemesis, purification, the divine scale, defense of the Just, luck, birth of mind".
How do we reconcile this emphasis on justice and consequences with the functions of the 7th house? Could there be more to it and is there anything else interesting you'd like to share about it?

The 7th House is not exactly approximate to the number 7, and not completely in line with the 7th sign, Libra, but it has elements of similarity. Other people are, in a sense, living manifestations of karma itself. The self can only be understood by interaction outside the self.

Marriage is in many ways a manifestation and distillation of this process. How well can you weather commitment to somebody else, or others? How can the balance of the scales be achieved? Traditionally, while some marriages were indeed deeply romantic, such as Plutarch's love for his wife, marriage was often associated more with providing children and heirs than any love and romance — often prompting people to stray or foment in bitterness. Especially in that challenging dynamic, can the scales hold to provide for that next generation, who are consequence personified?

Weirdly, the same is true with our rivals and the bitterest enemies known to us. When push comes to shove, does one fight or choose peaceable options?

Both marriage and rivalry are often challenging and prompt evolution, they often involve adherence to things that we would normally not do if given the choice.

As the saying went, "you respected your spouse but you loved your lover". It's only recently in history that people expect everything of their significant other (marriage and love and sexual fulfillment and romance), and expect to marry the person they love (which often ends in divorce as they were compatible for love and/or sex but not marriage).

Disclaimer: I'm not saying people shouldn't expect everything from their spouse, and I am not advising having an extra-marital affair which can destroy your marriage. I'm just neutrally stating how it was throughout history until recently.

Greetings!

7 house is about karmic mirror because it is the exact opposite to the AC that is a point of your choice, AC = the choice, DC = consequence of the choice. Whether enemies or other relationships. This might be greatest love and might be greatest enmity. I saw war lords with stellium there, maniac's victims, maniacs themselves and greatest scientists most peaceful and friendly with most safe lives who had one. I saw greatest monarchs with Pluto and Mars there who conquered and ruled the world, and victims of early homicide with the same. I saw higher planets and CRs in 7th of the most well-known charts of the most well-known military rulers and war lords. These are all different type of relationship. This may also predict what type of synastry will you mostly have in life. For example I saw Neptune in 7th of those living their whole life and loving their greatest love in 100% illusion of wtf their "greatest love" really was. Synastry only shows interaction of energies. It is not about which exactly type of relationship you are going to have. The last is up to you. Some people have no interest in marriages or business partnerships only in war. Some on the contrary.

As I think, Scales and Libra here is about what you give you receive back. What you sow, you reap. 7th house might represent your karmic seeds that might or might not manifest and their manifestation depends upon you. I have a theory that so called Angle houses are of that topic: IC-MC is about our path, where and from where we go, while AC-DC shows what we sow (AC) and what we reap (DC).
