• Why is it named "Ask Satan"? When anyone asks a question, they're asking the members here. Satan doesn't reply.
• I suppose my idea that I had for this - if it is the same, which I think it is - was a bad idea. Is FancyMancy shit, or did someone steal his idea and not credit him?

A2. You don´t need a email to use Ask Satan. We should be grateful that it was developed.

The only negative I see in it, is that if you want to reply in annonymous way to your own question you have to make another topic and link the old and new one by telling people.

So basically, you are upset because your suggestion didn't get approuved by the clergy and now you want to destroy the other idea who is way more anonymous than your was?

I understand that Satan is not really replying to people asking Ask-Satan Operator, it should be Ask-JoS Operator, but it still got approuved by the clergy.

You don't want people to get upset by making a thread pointing out that you are upset that your idea didn't get approuved because of the lack of anonymity (you were asking people to email you their question with their email adress).

Maybe everyone else will want to throw fire at me for saying this to you, but I see through your bullshit. I had the same question as to why it’s name is „ask Satan“. I came to the conclusion, that you can fully open up to Father Satan, you can literally approach him with any flaws, errors, wrongs, with anything. He will not judge you like people, and will still guide you according to his will, your merits, your individual standpoint and so on.

Since this tool anonymize the OP, this is kinda relatable. People are able to ask for help with any issue at hand, just as people can approach Father Satan with any issue.

This is the conclusion I drew myself. Maybe it is right, maybe it is wrong. Good enough for me to justify this name.

Your idea was not stolen in the sense of it being purposely taken without consent. I take credit for the initial idea surrounding Ask Satan, and yes it started similar to your idea. Unfortunately I was not on JoS at the time and was not aware of what you had originally devised. Through rapid communication with other members, the final product was devised in a matter of days.

What likely happened is that your idea was lost in communication or time, not by the merit of the idea itself. If there were any concerns from others, they were not stated, and unfortunately your spark of inspiration failed to materialize.

From the initial idea, concerns of two-way anonymity and email spam resulting in Soaring Eagle using his coding expertise to create the current platform. This then set the stage for a new service or function of JoS, and therefore the service was given a catchy name: "Ask Satan", which could aid expansion for a larger public use.

It does clearly state on the page how the website functions, so there cannot be any claims of misdirection or anything of that nature. This is no different than a commonly known service like "Door Dash" which does not literally do this.

Apparently, no-one is "allowed" to be proud in this place; everything that is posted that goes against what some might call doctrine is classed as shit-posting, drama, trolling, attention-seeking, etc. There is a long way to go before this forum looks decent for 1 billion people in less-than 10 years' time. It was a decent idea, but went nowhere, and was forgotten. At the time, nobody thought of writing a website to make it really work.

Nobody involved in Ask-Satan even remembered your idea. 4 years is a long time. It was honestly a new idea for a website for submitting anonymous questions.

One could also argue that we stole the idea from the enemy forum "AnonPoster". The fact is, anonymous posting is nothing new or special. It's how it's done that matters, and that part is totally different here than with your idea.

Regarding the name "Ask Satan", it's obviously for the sake of being catchy. It says right on the site that questions will be posted on the forums for people to answer. However, when clergy answers, we are representing Satan, so in a sense Satan is "answering" some questions, although not literally, as the website clearly says.

Thanks. I can't say this for certain, but before we had the prophpbb forums, it was me who said that we should go away from the crappy, bad Yahoo! Groups, and instead use forums. I can't be certain, but as far as I know, as far as I can tell, it was me who said that, then after that the prophpbb forums were used. I have ideas sometimes, and some of those are good. Back then with the forum, and with this anonymous posting idea, it seemed like ideas I shared were taken and driven to the destination of them coming to fruition, and FancyMancy was left out of the car standing in the rain (because I'm being emotional!!!! :roll. I don't think there is anything wrong with getting recognition.

I did not mention who or what or anything, but referred to other places... and my thread was deleted without any explanation. Now here you mention very directly and specifically "AnonPoster"... and your reply won't be deleted. The thread I made did not break any rules; it might seem like I was, for example, promoting another place or a place which is against us or pro-the-enemy or whatever, but that is definitely not what I was doing... yet it was deleted with no explanation. I know I won't get an actual answer as to why. I don't know what happens when posts/threads are deleted - if they are gone from the forum, or if they are kept in a moderator room in the staff areas. Anyone who has access can see if the thread I made after the thread honouring HPZM still exists. Looking at the original post of your idea, we see that the idea lacked refinement. I don't think bypassing the clergy on such an important project was a good idea either.

My professional experience brings me this way of thinking. In an organization, ideas must first present to the people who make the decisions. Rarely ideas pushed without the consent of the leaders are appreciated and are taken into consideration.

I'm sorry if I may have been "immature" or uncivilized in my answers. I thought the topic was not properly addressed. There is an expression in French "Laver son linge en public" which means to settle accounts with a person in public that should have been settle in private.

What else did I put in the email? I was added to an email thread without my permission. I was also added to it without my permission despite me saying no, and because (as I was told) a higher-up suggested inviting me (even though another higher-up said I was wrong in something I did when I was not wrong). I presume that's why I was added - without my permission and despite me saying no.

The idea lacked refinement? The JoS websites need sprucing up - and have been needing that for a long time. I posted the idea on the forum, and it was before the Internet Battalion section existed. I can do only what I can do with the tools I am given.

I don't think any email address, for HPZM, for example, existed back then. The most-direct way to share the idea... was to post it on the forum for all to see. Taking the initiative - making the email account and other forum account - might have sped up the process.

Your other thread was probably deleted because of all the nonsense about HP Zevios Metathronos "apologizing" there. Even if your intention was to honor HP Zevios Metathronos, it was written so nonsensically that people might think the opposite, that you believe HP Zevios Metathronos actually did waste time there. It was almost certainly not deleted just because you referenced the enemy forum indirectly.

The short answer to your question is that operation within a meritocratic hierarchy is a part of life. Tradition is to be balanced with scrutiny and individuality, as all things are to be balanced. Hierarchy also demands a degree of swiftness that does not always allow immediate scrutiny to take place.

Not all proof is therefore immediately evident or present in the desired manner/timeframe. This is especially true for matters which pertain to the astral and cannot be readily measured.

That does not mean that no proof can be found, but that it takes time. For example, one's perception of HPZM should be developed through a variety of interactions with him, as well as study of his work. How else do you intend to scrutinize or his abilities? Which metrics are there to test his abilities?

Yet, trolls exploit these obstacles on purpose, intentionally draining our patience. Then someone with genuine questions, like yourself, finds themself dealing with an already frustrated group of people.
