You are the words you use, you become the words you choose.

I’d like to begin this new series of in-depth articles by taking you on a journey of discovery that will touch on various topics.

My thanks to Our High Priest Zevios Metathronos who inspired me with his latest sacred post: https://ancient-forums.com/threads/...ods-against-Αισχρολογία-vulgar-speech.307658/

Any word we utter or deny activates specific areas in our brain, which in turn trigger the production of hormones and neurotransmitters that are ultimately responsible for how we feel.
In this regard, our well-being depends largely on the biochemical mix we create through the words we use, whether at work, at home, or even here on the Forum.
The great thing is that we can change this mix by choosing the words we use every day.

I realize these are technical terms, but I want to elevate the level of information I share here, so I ask you to stay with me.

The words we choose reveal our inner world and influence it. In line with this, we know well that in magic, our inner self is where everything begins.
Here’s how it works: every word you think or speak triggers a semantic search in your brain, which in turn evokes a series of ideas connected to that word. It’s a lightning-fast, unconscious process.
Pay close attention to the words you surround yourself with not just the ones you say, but also the ones you hear or read.

Words have absolute Power. Even before they reach the ears or eyes of others, they have been thought, and thus have already exerted their chemical effect on you before a single syllable is typed on the keyboard or transformed into sound by your vocal cords.
So understand clearly that the words you choose have the power to change your reality through the cognitive structure of your brain and the chemistry within your body.

Chemistry? Yes, chemistry.
It is chemistry that triggers all these reactions. Your behaviors are linked to chemistry. In fact, words trigger the release of hormones in you even before you speak them.

Now I want to give you three very simple examples:

  1. If, while showing someone an item you’ve purchased and handing it over, you describe it as “a little gift or a trinket” that item will automatically lose its value. Try instead saying, “a gift I chose for you.
  1. Similarly, if you start a call with “Hi, am I bothering you?”, the other person’s brain automatically perceives you as a nuisance, triggering cortisol (the stress hormone). Yes I know, you were just trying to be polite but that's how it works.
  2. You want to ask a question and say, “I have a stupid question that might not be relevant.” Well, if I were the person you’re talking to, I’d honestly tell you that if the question is stupid and irrelevant, well, why are you even asking it?

Another thing I’d like to briefly explain is that denying a frame reinforces it. What does that mean?
Saying “I don’t want to cause you trouble” has the same effect as saying “I want to cause you trouble.”

That’s how it is, and now I’ll explain why.

To deny a concept, the brain must first retrieve it from memory; after all, how can you deny a concept that doesn’t exist?
This ties into the magic of affirmations: the word “NOT” should not be included.

I’ll stop here for today, as these are complex topics that take time to digest.
Have you ever thought about all this?
Read this post at least three times to make sure you understand everything.

In the next post, I’ll go into even more detail, analyzing which words have more power than others and which hormones influence how you feel. (Cortisol, dopamine, serotonin, etc.)
I want all of you here to become skilled communicators so that you can make the difference in society.

Hugs,
Edward666

Words are unforgiving. Your subconscious does not process them the way your conscious mind does. It absorbs them raw, without filter. As mentioned in this post, knowing how to use words correctly is essential. Take this example: if you say "I am not unhappy," your subconscious only registers "unhappy" and draws that energy toward you. I have experienced this firsthand.

Thoth himself understood this. He is described as the guardian of effective speech, not words that fill space, but words that reveal truth. In the Egyptian magical texts, naming something was already to master it. And Hermes Trismegistus wrote in the Emerald Tablets: "What you call the Life within you is the Word. Rediscover that life within you and you will find the power to use the Word."

A word holds far more power than the meaning we assign to it. It is the vibration of your very being. Choose them wisely. Thank you for this post. The connection drawn between words and chemistry was truly eye opening.

May the Gods bless you, Glory to Zeus.

I think this applies to people with great strength of soul, but such people consciously choose words. And they swear at weak people all the time and nothing happens to them.

That's right, you've grasped the concept perfectly.
I invite you to perform the Sacred Ritual of the Great Thoth and then explore this further.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, there's a whole ocean of knowledge waiting to be discovered.

The general concept is on the right track but the post makes various indications of mechanisms and universality that must be tempered with a grain of salt.
Words affect the brain and can elicit hormonal changes in “chemistry”, but typically, the effect is relatively small and depends on the context, and is mediated by numerous other factors (life stresses, sleep, diet, genetics, general mental health, etc.). Most people will not reliably trigger a measurable and lasting surge in another person’s cortisol when they say ‘am I bothering you’ and will only do so, if they do at all, under specific conditions, such as tone, relationship, delivery and recipient state. Your brain is not a mere machine that lets hormones in.
This is motivational exaggeration: Words have absolute Power and change your reality. Language influences each person's perception of reality, and their reaction to it even more than objective reality will influence. Magical thinking framing (“in magic, our inner self is the place from which everything comes from”) is a merger of psychology and esotericism with fuzzy boundaries. Despite its apparent magicity and inevitability, semantic activation is real and rapid, but it is not magical and not deterministic; people resist and negate priming all the time out of reason and out of evidence.
The frame is its self-evidence, and is reinforced by denial: Mostly true, vivid negations, not absolute. Context matters. In many cultures "don't want to cause trouble" serves to be polite and yet effective without reinforcing negativity. For highly anxious people, sometimes a straightforward redressing of concerns is beneficial in lieu of strict positive reframing. Research on ironed process theory (the more you try not to think about it, the more you think about it) does not apply to everyone – it does provide advice for caution.
Low sensitivity, lack of individual differences: What is a positive way for someone to talk is inauthentic or irritating to someone else (e.g., verbosity with positive language). High vs. low neuroticism, and neurodivergent people and other personality types, react differently as do cultural contexts. The post assumes that the brain is more or less homogeneous.

How much change? superb results claimed with exchanges are results of consistency in patterns + action. Mostly, it is poorly effective to simply switch to a different language without dealing with the beliefs and behaviors underpinning it.

Over-optimation: If one attempt to optimize every utterance, that can result in self-consciousness or unnatural speech, which can have a negative impact on communication. Striking a balance: sometimes authenticity does better than optimization.
Filtering and mental distancing technique are not discussed even though it is noted in the post that hearing/reading others' words is something that could be done. It isn't possible to control every input.

Have you got links to research papers regarding the biological aspect of this?
There are many studies on this topic, we’ve made good progress.

The ones I find particularly interesting are “The Neural Bases of Semantic Memory,” and you can also explore the work of authors like Antonio Damasio in books such as “Descartes’ Error".
It is a complex topic, with many schools of thoutgh, each of which is truly fascinating.

It is essential to adopt a Zevist reading

Your insight is truly excellent, thank you for adding value.

Basically, I have to stick to general concepts, otherwise this post wouldn’t be accessible to everyone here.
Also, what you’re reading is based on research, yes, but also on my personal experience with the subject.

I deliberately emphasized the full power of words to drive the concept home, it’s certainly true that everything depends on various factors.
Maybe we can explore them further together in future posts
