As far as i know, Apollyon it's a derogatory name for Lord Apollo

Apollyon is the way the Greeks translated the hebrew Abaddon.
In hebrew lore, Abaddon is the angel of death, that rules over sheol.

The symbolism of the character does reate to Apollo, yes. So, both.
