They literally shitted on clergy, on High Priests. Even if one does not believe in the clergy's authority, one must accept the fact that everyone, even among clergy, deserve adequate and humane treatment. Is it too much to expect?
The people that were being discussed are not such. They literally treat every Zevist, every member of the clergy as an absolute trash without any basis. They do not care about constructive criticism, so the place would improve and prosper. They literally want this place to be destroyed. And for what? Because they hate it. It does not mean the Gods force us to love this place, to like this place. Nothing of the sort. You can disagree as much as you like. But trying to destroy the place? Well, this is comparable to trying to justify murder of another human being just because you do not like that human. This is not even legal. And if someone wants to perform such acts, then we have the full right to defend ourselves with every possible option available. And we will use them to the full extent, to the best capabilities of our own.
You are not incorrect in this. There's a big fine line between disliking, disagreeing, and going over to attacks or subversion because of this.
Unfortunately after many years as Clergy, I have noticed that a few people in fact do act against the Clergy of ToZ with ways they perceive should be acceptable to any form of "authority". They will make up any claim, any slander, any attack, and their judgement will be very poor. Their mere justification is that "It's Clergy", "They are trying to control us" and most of the time it's not even based upon anything.
In the meantime as they take everything that is offered, they attack you based on this. For example, you provide them with the religion, grounding, foundation, knowledge, emotional and any other form of support, with which they will attack you later.
They don't pay attention to the 99 good things you have said; they will obsessively put you in the corner for 1 thing you may or may not have made a mistake at (maybe they didn't even understand it) and be ready to stone you for it on top of it.
While they treat you in the worst way verbally, they want to be treated in the best way. If you respond, it is "Look, he is abusing power" (when they themselves, abused ultimately their power to you; going the furthest they can with any form of attack). Since in their case it didn't work, they pretend they are good.
They will heap upon you the most brutal accusations (that they cannot even imagine how would be if done against them) and think it's justified because of petty reasons. For example, they will say, after you teach them about the Gods, that their behavior, is to protect the Gods. Then they will tell you they know better and you don't mean nothing to the Gods, besides you having taught them about the Gods.
Essentially this is PTSD in many cases and it's how many people want to respond to world leadership, people who abuse them daily, or people who have serious "authority problems" without discern about what this particular authority is. In many cases, any type of "authority" is worthless and/or deserving to be stoned and/or revolted against, even if it is good or not. This mentality is also typical in children at 5-7 years of age when they contest their own mother and father, never minding they might actually need them or love them.
As Clergy it will be very common you are not treated fairly, not seen as a person, words won't count against you, and you have to endure this because of the mentality that if people "don't have authority they are good people" - these "good people" act like the worst people in many cases, without any regard. You are not an existing lifeform to them, you are just an idol they stone at. No reasons are even required in most cases.
The same cowards in their lives are however very good and won't do the same to the Pope of Rome or the criminals associations of enemy religions, and they would not do this to any Yehubor's leader or Imam in fear of the death penalty. But if it's convenient to for example, do it here, or to do it against leadership that truly cares about you, then they do it.
