Yes the sun will die in a couple billion years, that's just part of any star's life cycle. But we do of course have plenty of time to advance our technology, although on a universal scale it may still be a race against the clock. Eh, let's wait and see what happens.

I think this may be true. The gods would have enough power to transport humanity to other planets. I wouldn't worry of it the gods have the power to do many things just now let us finish the enemy's existence first.
