No paperwork is needed to get one.

You can get one off the internet no questions asked.

Felons and those who did stints in mental hospitals can have them in most states.

If the guns are ever taken nobody would even know you have it because there are no records.

I'm talking about cap and ball of course.

They are a bitch to clean and take forever to load but it's definitely worth having one around.

There are many sites that sell them.

Here is one of the best:

Love you guys a lot and happy shooting!

Here is another great site to get them if you don't want to go through an in store purchase:

https://www.ccsutlery.com/store/civil-war-weapons-revolvers-pistols.html

And here is everything you will need for your pistol:

Wonder seals or bore butter to prevent chain fires.

Pyrodex pellets or black powder.

Led balls in the correct caliber.

Caps.

Cleaning kit in the same caliber.

Ballistol.

Tooth brush.

Q-tips.

Here is the best and easiest to understand loading video that I could find:

Here is the best cleaning instruction video (the easiest to understand) that I could find:

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I just wanted to chime in and say that if you are looking for a short-barrel especially an 1858 or 1860 you will more than likely be waiting a while as many places seem have these on back order due to high demand.
