Exchanging mails does not equate meeting physically. I never said about anything about mails. Just about the physical part that it is best to not to meet anyone you do not know, for now.

Mailing others can have risks, if you use your own ip address (proxy server, vpn and tor help with this). You shouldn't use SS mail address for other stuff just to be sure.
