Why 'Demon'?

Why do we call our gods 'demons'? Isn't that an xian word? I can understand the use of the term Satan, as it means adversary, and he is the adversary of those who seek to remove occult knowledge, but is there anything the same about the word 'demon'?

In my opinion, the word Demon would probably be considered offensive, they are Gods after all, not 'xian evil fallen angel demons'.

I believe this should explain it accurately.   http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... aemon.html

Demons derive from the greek word "Daemon" meaning guiding spirit or intellligence or something, or inspiration.

No, it has a neg. connotation for xians - not for us. In English there is this differentiation - demon and daemon. 'Demon' is a twisted version of Greek 'daimon' (demigod) - thanks to st.Augustine (that son of a bitch was fucking women for 40 years and for 40 years his mum was praying to yhwh for him to stop - then st. Augustine went crazy. Well, anti-sex propaganda.
Anyway - we could use the term daemon, which means demigod AND does not have any neg or positive associations.
Daemon or God - if you don't want to use 'Demon'

BTW, a apologise for such a vulgar language - the thing with the corruption was the first info I have learned, before I even became interested in the occult arts.
