He just did called himself master therion or beast 666 and things like that for shock value but he wasn't really a Zevist. You can find a quote where he says he is against black magick repeating the same enemy lies about it:

You can see this totally debunks the pseudo-Zevists who think they are evil and bad and practice black magick but they are also based on Crowley. As the quote above says, Crowley hated black magick.
