What's New on the Forums: July 3, 2026

AvatarMaelstorm [TG]3 min to read

Greetings to our family,

Over the past few days, we've introduced several improvements, new features, and bug fixes to make the Ancient Forums better for everyone.

Here's what's new:

Expanded reaction support

We noticed how much you enjoy using reactions, so we’re removing the reaction limit per post. You can now use all available reactions, just like on our VT chat platform. We also improved the response speed for reactions, so giving reactions should feel faster and smoother. We also changed how reaction pills work: you should now double-click or press and hold a reaction pill to see who reacted.

Improvements on notifications

We now show all given reactions when you receive a notification that multiple people reacted to your post. We also made the notifications page faster and improved notification links, so when you click a notification about your message, you should now go directly to that exact message.

Richer content overview

You can now select both languages in the new content widget on the home page. It also saves your preference, so you won’t lose your selection when you leave the site. We also added support for thread prefixes, so you can now see them in places like anonymous questions.

Better and faster search

Since the forum launch, we’ve been working hard on search. We’ll keep improving it, but with this update, you should now be able to search the forums faster. Your results should also feel more reliable, and some errors you were getting should be gone. We also improved the Find mode, so you can now find threads or messages from a specific user more easily.

Ignore option returned

After requests from our members, we’re bringing the ignore option back. You can now ignore another user if you don’t prefer to see their posts. Just go to their profile and open the options dropdown to find it. Please note that this feature may not be available for certain users.

Improvements on message editor

We’ve been working on making the new message editor more reliable and smarter. As we keep improving it and gaining more confidence, we’ll release more editor features. With this update, we’re adding a dozen improvements that should make the editor faster and smarter. Draft errors, attachment upload issues, and some editor dropdown problems should be resolved now.

Improvements on schedule block

We improved the schedule block so you can see it one hour before a scheduled ritual starts, and it will disappear shortly after the ritual begins. You can also now see which Guardian or Clergy member is hosting the ritual.

The updates are not over yet. We’re already working on more improvements, and you’ll see more changes coming soon, including:

  • The much-anticipated light theme

  • A feed system for better content discovery

  • Scheduling threads or publishing drafts

  • More ways of customizing your profiles

  • ...and more things!

If you experience any problems on the forums, or if you have suggestions and opinions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. You can share your feedback under this thread or contact us on the VT platform.

Thank you for everything and may the Gods bless us all!

May you be blessed by the Gods☺️

"O yea that have believed in me, honor my symbol and my image, for they remind you of me. Observe my laws and statutes. Obey my servants and listen to whatever they may dictate to you of the hidden things. Receive that, that is dictated, and do not carry it before those who are without, Jews, Christians, Muslims and others; for they know not the nature of my teaching. Do not give them your books, lest thy alter them without your knowledge. Learn by heart the greater part of them, lest they be altered." Al-Jilwah, chapter V

Our Supreme Guardian @ApolloAbove [SG] did some great performance optimizations!

The forums should now feel faster and we'll keep working on it to make it even faster.

I am trying to put the Like for your message and it instantly disappears. The reactions are very low on my list of priorities for what I would like, but I thought you would want to know.

The new look is marvelous, thank You!

Is the signing in going to be fixed? Where I need to go into the email every time that I sign in. I don't know what the password is even for if I can't sign in with a password.

I used to come to the forum all day long every day while I am working. Usually in locations with very bad phone signal, but that was not a problem in the old forum. I might have only a moment or a couple minutes at a time to look at the forum, and that was fine when it only took me 5 or 10 seconds to sign in. I would have a minute to help someone or answer some questions. Now all day long I am discouraged from coming here at all just by the fact that I don't have 5 or 10 minutes to try to sign into the email just to get on my account here.

And it does seem like an invasion of privacy that I get the emails every day "You logged in from this location." The locations are never right, but close enough to be an invasion of privacy. So it could say that if I am trying to log in from the same areas all the time, you know it is me so you don't need to check the email.

This system seems like it is for the people who use a desktop computer, they log in one time, and for the next 6 months the tab is left open and they never have to log in again. Those people don't have any problem. But for people who use a phone, especially like me who likes to check here for a minute or two while I have a moment while I am working, it is not possible anymore and it is extremely inconvenient.

Also it is extremely difficult and annoying to write anything here. It is like the connection is so extremely slow when trying to write that it can't keep up with what I am typing. I type fast and this is not able to keep up with it, so it constantly does the thing where in the middle of a word, it will like update itself with what I am typing so it will repeat the same half of a word multiple times, or update something that I typed later before something I typed first. It will split a word in half, and put the next word I wrote inside the middle ofofthteh first word. I left that one so you can see how it looks like. It does this like every 3rd word and I have to constantly go back and rewrite every word. It takes me like 15 minutes to write something that should have taken 3 minutes. It makes italmositalmosttt unusable. "It almost" when it does it it keeps doing it and will put the same part of a word multiple times in the middle of the other word. And my phone signal is very high right now so that is not the problem, it is just extremely slow to update what is being written.

This used to happen occasionally on the old forum. But it would happen like once a month or a couple times a month. Now it is every sentence.

Very difficult to sign in. Very difficult to write anything. Impossible to view the list of unread topics except for like 10 that are on the home page. You said you are working on the last oonen, so thank you very much for helping with that and I am hopeful and excited for that.

These 3 things are almost everything that the forum is for. To sign in, view posts, and reply to them. These 3 things should be as easy as possible, as they always used to be perfectly easy. The reactions and beautiful pictures are nice, but they are not the most important thing. They are just decorations.

Maybe these things are working better on a computer. I don't know. Maybe people using computers are not experiencing all of thetheses same problems. But many people use a phone so it should work.

We are regularly working to improve the performance for all users, as you can see.

Can you share the model of your phone and the browser you use, either from here or from private messages, so we can look into this issue. We have many users using the forums from mobile devices and we didn't observe any performance issues for the majority of users.

If you experience these issues, we can use your device information to investigate this further. We also noted your previous feedback as well from the announcement thread and are still considering additional improvements, to address that as well.

Thank you as always.

For some bugs I've experienced so far:

There seems to be a weird bug I experience with hitting reactions, my reaction doesn't appear on some posts. Even if I go and refresh the page and try again, it doesn't work.

Also, when I went to reply and post on a thread my reply went through fine and appears there, but my reply still appears in the message box on the page at least twice, like it was drafted and incomplete or something. That one I found incredibly odd, as even if I delete everything that shows up in the message boxes, I refresh the page and the drafted reply reappears..? Never seen anything like that before.

I am also experiencing the same bug, it always appears to be the most recent message in whichever thread you are looking at. (assuming you wrote a message in the thread to begin with.)

This can get in the way if you want to write multiple comments. It could maybe be improved. But I do like this feature of automatically saving drafts. There have already been 2 times that I was trying to write a very long comment, and I got so distracted by trying to write it that I wasn't watching my phone battery and it shut off. Not everything was saved, but both times at leleast halfa of it was.
