well im in a bit of a bind. ive been a satanist for about 2 weeks now.
My family and i have been needing to build a deck and other things onto
our house. im not going to go into all of the details of why, but, my
parents have gotten help from a christian church to build it. I have to
service them in it. There may be a small possibility that i have to
start going to the church services, this is just a possibility, so it
might not happen. if so, i dont want father satan to be upset with me,
and no one knows im satanist. will father be upset with me? what should
i do?
First, what is the role in the church in building it? Chances are that
they are sending a few volunteers to assemble the materials, and as such
they are likely to do a piss poor job in assembling it. In the long
run, it is usually better to either hire out the job to contractors that
are accountable to you, or to do it yourself with the help of a few
friends without getting the church involved. It may take longer, it may
cost more, and you might actually get your own hands dirty in the work.
But, you are going to get a better product.
And if you are expected to join because someone else "volunteered" you
to in exchange for their services, suppose you just dog whatever
assignment you are given. If they want you in the choir, dog the
audition. If it gets more serious, such as they want you in missionary
work, chances are you are going to have to fill out your own
application. Dog that. Or if they want you in a monastery, dog the
application in that. There are good ways to disqualify yourself from
whatever service your church wants you in, and explaining that they are
using you to pay for services to someone else is not morally correct and
that you will not reliably perform should do the trick nicely.
If they still insist, dog the assignment as best you can. Meanwhile, do
a ritual that their piss poor construction of the deck become manifest
quickly, perhaps in a major section falling off in a light wind. Maybe
next time, instead of the church, they will find some professionals or
learn to do it themselves. And not expect you to pay for their deck.
