Im not quite sure what sources you're reading from to form such an opinion, and i dont know how knowledged you are on the Tao Te Ching, but based on the vibe im getting it seems you think its just a bunch of jargon. Unless IM the one mistaken, since im no professional either, but from what i do know is that Lao Tzu was never described as a being that achieved enlightenment, this was never even hinted upon much less emphazied on and theres less "facts" known about him than there are fingers on a single hand. So again, i dont know how you came to that conclucsion. The Tao Te Ching put simply, is just a collective of knowledge that several different nameless hermits added to at different times over the years, which im pretty sure predates the spark of Buddhism much less shitianity. However im not saying that the book might or might not have been effected by shitianity, but that branches out to another thing entirely. The point is that from the start of Tao Te Ching to present day, it is known that sages or hermits HAVE added to it based on what the read of the Tao Te Ching before THEIR time, so that means that there MUST have been a single person to have written the first page. While we know close to nothing about this person, we know that he must've existed to have started the Tao Te Ching. So my question to you is, if you really think Lao Tzu never existed then where, when and how did the Tao Te Ching come to be?Also, i'd like to add that this isnt really like shitianity where over the years their bullshit stories just get more and more beefed up. As far as Lao Tzu and all the other hermits and sages, as the years go on less and less are known about them forever forgotten in time, i'll leave your imagination to its devices but this sounds more human-like than anything else as far as ancient philosophy and/or religion goes or what have you. It shows that these writers were just fucking guys who just sat down and thought about shit and then wrote it down.
