When I was young I remember being stuck on level in final fantasy, being unable to beat it, giving up and quitting both the game and video games as a whole for well over a decade. I say back and realized I had just wasted my life on nothing, an imagination that serves no purpose. If you remove the screen, controller and console, there's a slack jawed fool wasting their time, gaining no real knowledge, experience, or true value, just jiggling there fingers with a blank expression their face. For those of you who still play this and are addicted you have to realize that this isn't really any different from being plugged into a virtual reality, except with slightly less realism.

With that being said I could find some use in them as I started playing again a few years ago, but for the most part as a distraction when holding certain yoga poses for long periods of time and with a timer if I have to switch sides for the sake of balance. Otherwise I would lose track of time and hold for who knows how long. I have a cushioned U shaped chair for supporting my shoulders while in a head stead and can hold for up to 30 minutes, although I normally hold for about 15-20 which is about how long it takes me to finish a quick game of pubg. It takes time consistency to hold for this long, and it should never be rushed as this is dangerous. If a blood vessel in your brain explodes you could die so make sure you increase slowly.

The distraction actually makes it much easier to hold and my back chakras, the 3 points that open up your wings, open up nicely and I often charge up for rituals in this way. Most other stretching poses don't need to be held for longer than 4-5 minutes as you will just cut off blood flow to the area.

There are of course certain poses that you can't really focus on the game with, but I am mainly speaking of the ones where this is possible. Also you do have to be pretty flexible already if you trying to play games in split for example. The benefit of this is that you can have some fun while your also placing value and energy within yourself.

I know plenty of you will be unable to quit, and it is always preferable to read, study, write e-mails, and be productive while multitasking, but I realize some of you might be unable or unwilling to quit.

Some of the things you write seem dangerous to me. But I've seen experts around the internet advising you to do certain activities, which you would do sitting in a chair, squatting.

With enough willpower it is not a difficult task to cut down drastically or quit video games all together. You could just put on very pleasing music for yoga asanas.

When I was alot younger I used to game for long periods of time, and I was addicted basically to all sorts of games, consoles, and would grind for countless hours.

Over time I just learned to be strict with myself and I was able to keep this as a hobby and just game for a few hours here and there. I've been strongly disciplined with it for many years now.

This varies by person and some individuals may be better off cutting this out completely. I would just be honest with yourself and see if this is the case for you.

Recreational hobbies are important. We just have to weigh on if they are a good fit for us or not, or if picking something else would be preferable.

I also wasted a lot of time on it as a child. Parents who come home stressed from work need their children to sit still and not bother them while they cook dinner. At least video games are interactive compared to television. There were also particularly cooler games than now. I remember Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on PS2. I don't think they've created anything better in all these years.

Then during my teenage years I totally abandoned them, preferring to hang out with my friends.

But now I see these people with visors, and I actually hope for them that the Lockdown time will not make them forget reality.

I just wondered how you do other things while holding the vertical on your head. I if I do an asana I have to focus exclusively on it or it doesn't seem to have an effect.

I read that mathematician Harold Coxeter attributed his longevity to the fact that he kept the handstand for 15 minutes every morning, however, I don't know if he proved theorems in the process.

Video games are the highest form of art, maybe go learn unity or unreal engine, try creating something beautiful
This is very subjective. I was reflecting that the art of painting may be obsolete these days. Which the average techbro will certainly take for granted. I realized that the role of paintings in homes has been replaced by the television set. And I think the most important work of art of the last century is Disney Fantasia 1940, which combines classical music with animation by means of synesthesia.

But I have this rather old painting at home. I was sitting in an armchair one evening and the sight of it enraptured me for a while in a kind of ecstatic trance. I can never have anything like it from the artificial imagination provided by screens. It is like comparing meditation to psychedelic drugs.

Thats a good point, maybe its the screens themselves. The flickering, that causes this.
I say they are the highest form of art because they encapsulate every discipline, music, storytelling, illustration, graphic design.
I feel like video games in themselves are a form of technomancy.
All wrapped up with math and science.

Thats a very keen observation. TV has replaced the art that we place in our homes. Maybe TVs have even dimminished our ability to appreciate art. Stunted our ability to imagine. Its almost like the TV is us outsourcing our imaginative capabilities to a black cube.

Pretty deep when you think about it

Or people would stare at the hearth for a long time. But any uneven surface was looked at like children look at clouds, for hours.

Leonardo advised people to take inspiration for their works that way. Benvenuto Cellini saw a salamander in the hearth of his home.

But even ordinary people used to scry everywhere. They saw all kinds of spirits.

But of course trusting what you perceive is of the devil. Better to trust holy scripture, scientists, Freud, television, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, the Matrix.
