Yes, using Venusian energy, mantras, or spells for money workings would not be a good idea during this time.
However using the energies of the Sun or Jupiter or using Runes for wealth workings would be fine.
The pre shadow period does not have the same effect as the actual retrograde so it is still acceptable to do workings at this time as long as Venus is not in detriment or fall (which it now is).
