Unbinding?

I have a list of people I want to bind, many of them older family members. Let's say something miraculous happened and someone I bound woke up and wanted to be a genuine person to me, can I unbind them in such a case or once someone's bound that's it? I feel if the relationship gets repaired it might leave a bad taste in someone's mouth to still be bound. Or it might not matter! Ahaha
