Hey all,

I do follow a daily meditation program, but due to the fact I had surgery on both my knees a couple of years back, I'm not able to do yoga. I even find sitting in Easy Position for more than a few minutes becomes really uncomfortable.

I know that yoga is an important part of daily meditations as it builds energy, among other things.

Is there some kind of yoga I can do, like just from the waist up that will still benefit me and build energy? I know that sounds a bit ridiculous, but I'm not sure how else to explain it...

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as I feel my meditations are lacking somewhat.

Hello for people who cannot do yoga then try Tai chi or Qigong. The exercise Standing like a tree actually circulates the energy in your body so that would be an alternative. The book " Qigong: Way of Energy" Has exercises you can do to replace the yoga. You can get it from amazon.com :) Also the kundalini yoga spinal series is good for yoga from the waist up. Go to the main joyofsatan yahoogroups websote and go to FILEs section and look at it there :) I hope this helps

I don't really know the serious of your knees. But can you not simply do the positions that don't cause strain on your knees?

I don't see how handstand or shoulderstand could cause strain on them, or a lot of the others. Also, you don't need to do mins at a time when you start. Just start with 30-60 sec, and work your way up as you can.

Thanks Shannon, this was very helpful. I've had a look in the files section and think I will start off with the Hatha yoga sample session provided, and work my way towards the Kundalini spinal yoga as I get stronger.

Thanks for your input :)

No problem brother :)
Im happy you are still gong to try the Hatha because it will do nothing but make you healthier and heal you.
Also do the kundalini as well :)

But if you still have a difficult time then the Qigong is a sure way to go. I have tried and did Qigong. Its great and stimulaes a different part of the soul because the energy buzz i get from that feels different.
