The Quiet Introspection and Connection to Your Truest Self and Our Gods

AvatarHigh Priestess Lydia Coventina7 min to read

Our Gods gave us Yoga for a reason. Not just to increase physical flexibility and mobility. Yoga asanas, for many people, are an important tool in the path to Godhead. When done correctly (meaning, in the correct way for you as an individual), asanas align your physical body and mind with your Higher Self, and align you with the higher guidance of your Guardian Daemon.

For most areas in life, people rush around, or sit on the couch or computer mentally engaged or zoned out. Most people who do yoga are drawn to forms that are more of a physical workout, or active movement. They have a mentally difficult time holding a pose that may seem boring for more than a few moments.

One key of enlightenment lies in the seated asanas. But first, you do need to do physical movement. The body needs to be conditioned, which is why much of yoga has adapted to suit the needs of most people who are more sedentary or have less time to fit everything in. If you don’t get enough physical conditioning, then your body will be agitated, energy will be low and stagnant, bloodflow stagnates, the lungs and therefore breath are not powerful, and so on. Our bodies are designed to move, and functions optimally with movement.

So in order to get into yoga, you must first do what is required of your body to condition it. This can be earlier in the day, or the previous day, but done fairly consistently. The type and amount is up to you as an individual, and that is not the purpose of this post. But to sum that up, focus on getting the exercise required for your body, and get in a good overall condition with your blood, muscles, lungs, everything well conditioned in whatever way that is best for you.

Now, for your yoga practice. Tune in to yourself, if you feel that wave of spiritual longing near, then you can proceed immediately to the seated asanas. Most people will need to do moving and/or standing and balancing asanas first.

When you are in a seated asana, you become aware of your body. You feel your limitations. Remain near your edge, hold it, while focusing on your breath. Breath is key here. Adjust any pose so you can breath fully, inhalation and exhalation. You may notice yourself sighing, or taking the occasional extra-deep breath; this shows the yoga is working. That is your soul making adjustments within yourself.

Trauma is stored in the body, our High Priest has written a PDF about Somatic meditation. This release happens through yoga as well. Many people feel unexplained sadness, anger, agitation, fear, or other feelings. Most people don’t fully understand this, and they become angry at yoga itself. Those feelings are your past emotions that are now coming up for processing. Nearly everyone represses emotions at least a bit, and/or have repressed emotions from past lives. In order to heal, this process must happen. You need to understand these emotions to release them. Meditate in your pose, and feel them release. You can ask yourself why you feel this way; journaling will help. You can later do a tarot reading for further insight.

Many emotional memories and trauma are stored within the fascia of the body. When you stretch, and hold a stretch, these are able to be released. You need to focus on releasing them, not repress them again. This is why journaling and self-reflection are important. Release your trauma, fear, anger, grief; so that you may now have the space to go forward towards your Higher Self, towards the Gods.

If you feel sadness, allow yourself to cry, keep a box of tissues near your mat. Don’t pay attention to societal norms that say you always need to be stern or cheerful. You are alone in this moment. Cry to get the sadness out of your system, so you can make room for the peace, serenity, and inner joy that will come in time. And this is where true strength comes from: understanding yourself with higher awareness, and doing what you need to become the best version of you. Always repressing oneself is not strength, that will make you smaller of a being with less consciousness.

The above stage may last a while, or it may be short; it may happen daily for a period of time, or only sporadically. It will happen as it needs to, organically.

This quiet introspection happens with seated or supine asanas. Standing asanas are Yang, and strengthen the body and mind. Seated and floor (lying in prone, supine, or on your side) are Yin, and help with introspection. Your body is more supported and relaxed, so your mind can turn within. You can tell yourself to remain in the posture without doing anything else, and focus on your breath and your Self. “When the mind is quiet, the soul can speak.” With this, you can connect to your Higher Self, which is a beautiful event to happen. Words cannot fully describe those moments, or what the experience is all about. You will know for yourself when it happens. People these days are all about information; they care not for wisdom. You need your own personal experience over the course of years for wisdom.

While in seated asanas, focus on just being. Focus on your breathing, observe your mental or emotional state impassively, and sense yourself putting yourself aside for the Gods. This is where inner connection to our great Gods happens; when you put in the work on yourself for Them, and then set yourself aside to make room for Their Divine Guidance to grow within you. Related to this, I wrote previously on how the walls in the mind come down through yoga, based on what Lady Pythia had written years ago about knocking down the walls and barriers within the mind and soul to achieve enlightenment.

If you always try to connect to Them from a set perspective from within yourself, then anything They try to tell or show you will only be from your own limited perspective, and not from whole and unadulterated Truth. This is the true meaning behind the Yogic wisdom that was then corrupted by those with a lower awareness; you are not supposed to permanently erase your Ego (self-identity); you are only supposed to develop the ability to set your ego aside to allow the Divine Truth of the Gods to ring clear.

Many people throughout history, including a number of members here, have received guidance from the Gods. But because they do not set themselves aside, that guidance is corrupted by their own perspective, which often includes their own emotional problems, their own toxic mindset, their own psychological hangups, their own false beliefs. The Truth then become adulterated.

You will never truly hear the Gods, until you are willing and able to set yourself aside for Them. Set aside your fears, your emotional problems, your wants. Deal with all that after, with a mindset of being willing to heal and grow. In this moment with the Gods, you must rise above yourself and accept Their Divine Guidance and Wisdom.

This is the targeted message.

Thank you HPS Lydia this is actually extremely important.

I had somewhat been in this belief as well that yoga has predominantly physical and certain spiritual properties but I was not aware that it can be this impactful in our advancement. The more time goes the more I realize that spirituality is not some sort of otherwordly or "other-dimensional" knowledge of power but it is simply, an extension of our physical existence, something that exists within us but above our physical reality and as you have proven HPS something that is very easily accessible to anyone that is willing to do the work and follow the correct knowledge to reach better and more elevated versions of themselves.

Also people have been limited on so many levels even physically. How to eat properly, how to sleep properly, how to have proper and fullfilling sexual relations, how to train their body properly, how to talk properly with other people, how to maintain their physical health properly and so many other things that we consider very basic. It is actually shocking for someone to understand these and see things somewhat from above so to say in what a low existence most people have and how little they know about the most basic things they take for granted.

There are so many different types of Yoga I don't know where to start. Is it fine to first stick to the Hatha and Kundalini Yoga routines TOZ provides?

I'm getting energy buzzes from these. I don't know where to go after these though. The KY Kriya Paga has so many different sessions. It can feel quite overwhelming. These sessions touch all the chakras so perhaps they're good as a general starter for now but I do wish to develop my yoga routine further after that.

Perhaps a future roadmap focused on Yoga could be very helpful for beginners on the practice.

Thank you for your excellent reply, @The Alchemist7 [SG] 🙏

Yes, as long as you are enjoying them and getting a good buzz. In time you can try adding a new new asanas. It's a journey to explore :)

I just did this today and experience the fall of some walls of the minds, and similar things.

Then I red this Sermon, and actually it talked about what I experienced.

About the Ego thing, many confuse Ego suppression with Ego purification or Ego improvment.

Odysee 1, 32-34:

"Ah, how shamelessly mortals blame the Gods!
For they say evils come from us,
whereas they themselves, through their own folly, suffer beyond what is ordained".

Very powerful! I resonated with this one. Much gratitude to the Gods for their guidance and love for us. Thank you High Priestess, I learn much from your posts and appreciate this! ♡
