My original account Personal Growth seems to have been completely wiped out. I first joined with Tyrone1978 but soon set up Personal Growth. Now I see Tyrone1978 has like 974 messages when it was inactive. And my reinstated Personal Growth which I set up again even accepted the same password.

So there has been some cross over of some sort. It doesn't really matter. I'm still here with the same user name.

What happened before these upgrades was my old ten year plus old i-phone 4s stopped reading the forums. That I put down as my browser being outdated. I'm happy now to see I can read and navigate this new theme. But to post replies it works like that new technology where clicking has no effect like nothing it being clicked. But that too I can live with. Happy to see it online on my phone again so not to miss out on things.

This visit is on an old laptop I pull out. Keep up the good work very professional and modern theme here.

Most people are currently on mod, I just approved yours. You saw your post right away but if you look at the top for the next post you make it will say it's only visible to you until it's approved.

Log in with your original username (Tyrone1978), request the name change to what you did change it to before (Personal Growth).

Look at the posts by your previous username, are they the ones you made with "Personal Growth"? If so, then what I wrote above will make more sense.

Usernames were just reverted back before changes.

Log in with your original username (Tyrone1978), request the name change to what you did change it to before (Personal Growth).

Lovely. I have to say that I did love the old forum style a lot as someone who's used the forums that way for a long time and the same applies to our main website - but I totally understand the needed modernization to be ready for the fresh blood that's inevitably going to pump more and more into the great collective organism that is us.

I have a few humble suggestions:

Since the forums have been modernized, why not add more customization options on the User's end? Such as text size and perhaps font. Since we have done the dark theme already, this is the logical next step!

A setting to hide the top bar (especially if we can also have the option for a little button or something to bring it back down) would be great, for the purposes of privacy.

Everything else seems great for now, I've just barely begun to explore the revamped forum.

Also, if either of my suggestions are already present in some form, I do apologize. I am currently only able to check on a mobile device for now, and I am reporting this based on my experience with the Preferences menu.

The previous forum was getting slower than usual for about the last 2 weeks. I noticed this too. I know this was a big reason why everything was just changed to try to make it faster.

All I can say is for me, this new one seems like every page takes at least 10 times longer to load than the old one. There is such an enormous increase of features and components on every page now, and we have to wait for all of these things to all finish loading before the page is shown correctly. Maybe people are using computers with very fast internet connection so they don't notice this, but for me it feels like it takes forever for each page to load.

Some technical inquiries; I used to possess the ability to delete my own posts. Not that I've ever done it, but the option was available to me. There would be an X button at the top right of my post, and it presumably would have allowed me to remove it. However, this option is no longer there. Was this something everyone had, too, or was it part of a particular privilege of sorts?

Also, the "Preview" button while writing posts, does not seem to perform any action for me. Previously, it had allowed us to see precisely how our post would appear if it were publicly visible, allowing us to simulate exactly how others would view it. I greatly appreciated that element, and would hope to be able to utilize it again.

But regardless, everything else is incredible, and I truly admire the current interface. I strongly applaud the extensive efforts of everyone who has contributed (and is still contributing) to creating the perfect environment for this sacred abode.

I don't think the functionality is as degraded as you may be assuming. There are trade-offs with everything, but you have to look at the sum total change.
Regarding your specific concerns:
You can still type unicode and it translates correctly, or toggle your view with the "Toggle BB code" button
Text color of quoted passages can be changed to suit individual needs, as can the text itself be modified or deleted
You can quickly save drafts of your replies, then just close the page or screen.
