The Duat

So I was reading some of my emails from here and i was reading a discussion and it mentioned something about the Duat. I didn't know the Duat was actually real. Can someone explain it to me? I can't find anything on the JoS site. The only other time I've heard about the Duat was in Rick Riordan's book The Red Pyramid. It was about Egypt and the Gods and stuff but I know it was mostly fake and the magic in it is fake also. They talked about the the Duat and the main character apparently used it as a "locker" to store his magical supplies or something like that. That's probably not what it actually is but can someone explain it to me? Thanks.

It's another name for Hell, i.e. the planet in Orion constellation where the Gods reside now, which is a beautiful planet with 2 suns in their solar system.
