The Aryan Race

We were talking about WW2 in History today, and after class my teacher got into a discussion with us history nerds about the races the Nazi's liked and disliked. At one point came up the Aryan race, and the teacher didn't know what they were. Just out of curiosity, what is the Aryan race/ where is the 'main population' from? I'm really curious about it now xD I was also told Hitler didn't like the Natives... Yeah considering us Natives are Gentiles I don't really believe that....
