What I find shocking though is how the meteorologists were not able to predict something of this magnitude coming. Weather has changed in the last years and became very unpredictable but still this is not an ordinary harmless event. If they did then authorities would have been able to evacuate the residents and try to keep everyone safe.

Yes, this was an incredibly strange phenomenon. It occured so fast no one had time to prepare. Weather is definitely a lot different the past few years.

I'm sure they knew a storm was coming, just not to this severe magnitude. It was quite the experience, I am glad my family and friends are safe.
