Taboo about whistling

Besides my own folk beliefs in Southeast Asia, other parts of the world have similar beliefs about whistling, especially at night time and within the home setting. I have heard that it brings bad luck, bad circumstances, poverty, and evil spirits.

Is there any Zevism perspective or significance about whistling?

Just baseless superstitions. It's like people saying you're lucky if you step on dog shit, or that you're attracting bad luck if you whistle inside a house or a black cat passes in front of you.

Some superstitions do actually have some spiritual merit. What do you mean about whistling however? As in air whistling, or hearing whistling people?

Some are total random BS and mean nothing by the way.

What I mean about whistling is the act of whistling itself. I'll just use my own culture. For example, it is forbidden to whistle in the home during the night because malevolent spirits might hear it and try to do negative stuff in the home or to the person doing the whistling.

I'm from eastern Europe and in the countryside where I grew up, there was the exact same superstition. I wonder what's up with that.

Yes, you see? The same is found in other parts of the world as well. I don't think it is just baseless superstition as Aquarius posits.

Alright then, stop whistling in your house because of fear, be a good xian.

When I hear the xians talking about spirits and spirituality, the moon falls on me.

I mentioned you not as an attack. My point is that since it is found in other parts of the world, surely there is some kind of viable explanation or some kind of occult meaning we've yet to know. What is it with these catty response?

Use your head. Xianity is also something that people believe in all over the world, doesn't necessarily mean that it makes sense or that it's good.
People all over the world also think that you have to wait 3 hours after eating before swimming, does that make it right? No it doesn't.

There's nothing spiritual about whistling, and you're not gonna attract any negative spirit. An Zevism has to be beyond the usual Npc superstitions.

You are right about the xianism and whistling but I would be more cautious with bathing and meals as it relates to digestion and temperature changes. Temperature changes are dangerous in other circumstances as well.

I got it.

I'm a beginner. I'm learning. So while I'm learning, I will have some questions that I have not yet found in the site or the files. And I am not one to fear asking or fear appearing stupid. Better to ask than to never ask.

......

Thanks all for contributing your thoughts.
