Hello all,
<h3> Since not everyone knows a lot about supplements and how to use them correctly and such, myself included, and studying this in depth by yourself can take a long time I thought starting this thread/topic might help.

The idea is that when you know something or find something that should not be in a supplement that is supposed to help your health, or, if there is something that is good for your health and which form can be best absorbed, that that would be added on here.
So we can work together on something like a database with information regarding supplements, which can save us all quite a bit of time and hassle in the end.

If you have found something, preferably provide a source to what piece of information you share.

Now I was looking for supplements the other day and I found a lot of Titanium dioxide (E 171 - labelled as "A possibly 'harmful' substance") included as a coloring agent in the tablet supplements from Now, Solgar and Orthica. I have seen those 3 brands being mentioned as being 'high quality supplements'. A supplement that poisons its user is not 'high quality'. Its just some criminal practice, that drives up the cost as well.
Some capsules also contain titanium dioxide as well.
This substance is supposed to battle discoloration of stuff which happens over time. So everything looks fine but may have been spoiled already.
Its mainly used in white paint.

Titanium dioxide is banned from the food supply in Germany, for it has found to be cancer causing, irritating and (possibly) causing inflammations.
Nano particles of Titanium dioxide are taken into the cells easily and then is said to cause harm to the cells which results in genetic mutation, also known as cancer.
The titanium dioxide nano particles are (mostly) used in sunblocks.

Products that contain Titanium dioxide are: Toothpaste, sunblock (& other cosmetics), sweets,

"Titanium’s Effect on Your Brain Titanium exposure may be harmful to your brain. Titanium nano particles can enter directly into the hippocampus region of the brain through the nose and olfactory bulb. Research conducted by Escuela Superior de Medicina at Instituto Politécnico Nacional found that titanium dioxide had a toxic effect on glial cells in the brain, suggesting that exposure to titanium dioxide may cause brain injury and be a health hazard. [4] Long-term chronic exposure and environmental pollution are not documented and a relationship between nano particle exposure and development of degenerative brain diseases may exist. [5] " (4)

"Omdat de titaandioxide deeltjes zo klein zijn en een elektrische lading hebben, heeft blootstelling, oxidatieve stress en chronische ontstekingen tot gevolg (3) en hebben de titaandioxide nanodeeltjes ontstekingsreacties en genetische afwijkingen bij muizen veroorzaakt. " Translation:

Also I'd like to include this page - It has the Enumbers (European Numbers) on it with the name behind it (in dutch, you can look the substance up on wikipedia as well), and the color shows the level of danger for the health. Red is Absolutely Avoid. Orange is with colliding studies and tests, and Green is that for so far it is not known weather it is okay or not to consume these.

And there is also a website you might want to consider if you are in Europe.
https://ch.iherb.com/

This website can ship to Europe. Select your country and currency in the left top corner next to the iHerb logo. I put it on Switzerland to test it out if it would work.
The shipping costs can be seen on the check out and it has something that says that there might be additional fees if your package has to go through customs and they checked it out.
If there are any products that you can not find in Europe, maybe you can find it here.

I've read some reviews about it, from people whom shipped it in the country where I lived some say its way cheaper, trustworthy as well. The comments didn't seem fake at all on this either. I have not yet ordered anything from them, but I would in the future.

This was lengthy, yet I hope it to be useful.

This is a great thread (it would be awesome if you'd start it on the forum, because it's easier to navigate through messages. It's just an idea tho :p).
I wanted to add something about iHerb because I used it multiple times. The shipping in Europe is fair and rather cheap. Also the more money you spend on their site, per order, the cheaper the shipping is. For instance if your order costs more than $100, the shipping can get as low as $2 (I assume it'd differ from country to country, but it's still not bad at all). So it's always a good idea to group your items together in one shipping, to benefit from this. However, expect your package to go through customs and expect to be requested to pay additional money by the customs office before your package is delivered to your home; although this doesn't happen every time, it's good to be aware of it. I don't know how iHerb handles their orders because sometimes I receive my package in some 5 days, with no extra fees to pay to customs, while other times my package spends on average 2 weeks at customs, and when all the procedures are completed, I need to pay 40 more euros. That's not at all fun. I'm mentioning this here so people are aware of this (better be prepared than being taken by surprise)

Thanks taol,

Didn't know about that chemical, but now I do...
Ahh so much to avoid it does get annoying.

In light to what said I came on this page that has that titanium and 3 other fillers. A few that's the normal like artificial coloring sense it's a big filler especially in food.
