Summoning a Daemon for the first time

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
I know that summoning a Daemon(ess) is a serious thing and a lot of people do it for the wrong reasons so I just need your opinions on this. I've recently looked through the JoS section on Daemons and I was wondering if it would be concidered rude/disrespectful to summon a Daemon for guidance in life and meditation? Like someone to turn to when experiencing a lot of difficulties in your spiritual life. I just don't want to seem rude and offend the Daemon(ess). Thanks!
