Stay away from polystyrene!

As it turns out, it's cancerous, and takes at least 500 years to decompose.

Imagine how long is that, if Leonardo da Vinci ate some fries from polystyrene packaging and threw it away, that packaging would totally decompose somewhere in this century.

Another problem is that polystyrene is usually used to package hot items. Hot food cause polystyrene to break down, and it's byproducts are cancerous.

In my country most people use it as a building material to isolate their homes but aparently is dangerous only in direct contact with our bodies.

I guess it is less of a threat when it stays in the wall. It is its usage as food packaging that is worrisome.
