It may be your astral sense that caught up the smell. Which explains no one else senses it.
The Gods in other hand, do not give off bad or awful smells. They are glorious and clean beings.
Like I for one, I got the taste of blood many times, because of my bioelectricity increased, it started to clean and heal my blood/organs, and sensed the taste of blood as a sign/result.

It may be an identity that is trying to contact you, but as it gives a bad smell, I would ignore it. And not let the identity in. And do aura of protection, and ask Father Satan what it may be and you may recieve some signs.

There is a very big chance this is not good. Let's take it one step at a time. How long is this happening? Do you have any other" events", noises , flashes, movement of objects? If not, give it some time, be aware of your surroundings but NEVER invoke something you don't know, and NEVER be disrespectful. If the manifestation stays at the smell, maybe you are going to some place that has an intense smell like this, and your GD or some other entity( malevolent or benevolent anyway you get the point) is bringing that smell along.If the signs get stronger and more often, you might got yourself a Poltergeist. In any case don't think about it and don't worry, just stay aware, you can always banish, although in such case it's harder.No need to talk about protection.

Bad odors come from the enemy. If there is an unexplainable stench, and no one is causing it, and only you, and as you said, your brother can smell, you can be assured, it's the enemy. I picked up the smell of piss the other night outta nowhere. I have many filthy angels herassing me at the moment. So, probably the enemy. You can either ignore it, and it will go away, or talk to Father Satan on how to deal with it if it persists.
