Setting up alter

Hi guys
Want to set up an alter and would like some tips on doing so. I'm quite sure on the basics but help from more experienced satanists would be great.
I know that I will need: black/red/blue candles, black table cloth over the unit, Baphomet pentagram above, perhaps framed pic of satans symbol, incense, chalice, dagger, 
Does it matter were the alter is? I live in a trailer and sleep in the living room but don't use my bedroom. Personally I found a nice place to put it in the living room close to were I sleep, but I have to ask if this is a good idea or not.
So basically tips on this will be helpful. What are essential items for alter, and what isn't that important. Importantly what must not be on there in a certain way ect.

Just before anything else I'd like to say that it's not necessary to have a material, physical altar. Spiritual Satanism is a religion of the mind and soul. I myself have been a Zevism for many years and don't have a physical altar (because of money, place and other reasons). Sure if you really want to have a physical altar is your choice. In that case you can have it wherever you want.  It's explained in the site.

P.S. About the other question you asked about the dedication ritual and attacks from enemy angels, it's actually the opposite than what you think. The enemy angels may attacks someone to scare him away from dedicating (which is their purpose of the attacks, and if you just tell them "fuck you" they stop) but after dedicating these usually stop. These attacks usually only happen when the person thinks about the dedication for a long time and doesn't do it instantly (like when people are planning to do the dedication 2 months later). And pre-dedication attacks are usually very very rare, less than 10 people out of 100 experience them. The majority of people don't. Really, all they want to do is to scare you from dedicating and seems like they've done that without even attacking you
Though AFTER the dedication you are actually protected against heavy enemy attacks. The dedication ritual offers protection so you can advance your soul safely, you are truly accepted by Satan when you dedicate.

well when I studying satanism if it be j.o.s or just in general ( wich is all the time ) I feel a positive feeling. I think i might of even spoken to satan but I don't know weather it was just me pretending to myself, I do have a big imagination like that. 
So all is positive. Then maybe before I go to sleep or waking up I get a sudden change of thought saying oh shit maybe this is gonna be dangerous, am i getting myself into some scary shit, sort of talk myself out of it. But can't help but study satanism more then feel good again. Could this be considered an attack? Because I've learnt to deal with that. But to see a grey in my room staring at me or seeing any 'super natuarl being' would fuck me up Lol. I'm trying to get myself ready for this. Surly runes and strong aura ect will help.

Sounds like your on the right track. I don't notice anything your doing wrong accept you didn't mention anything about dedicating it to Satan.  
I didn't make any circles or anything but simply have a row of 4 candles to signify Satan, Baal Zebul, Astaroth and Azazel.  That's probably wrong, but I felt the need to honor each of them with their own candle.  My candles simply set on a board on the floor so candle wax doesn't get on the carpet.  And I have a mat in front of it and its simply facing a wall in a corner.  I've got a ritual dagger. Also I have an incense holder.  That's it.  Its a work in progress.  But so far I don't feel I need more than that.  
Soon, I'd like to upgrade.
You could get a bell, make a black mirror, buy a book of shadows or notebook, a burning bowl, a chalice, a tarot deck, maybe some runes, maybe check out stones e.g. chakra stones.  A pendulum.
It has a lot to do with what you know how to do, so don't worry about it.  You've got the stuff you need and after you learn what else you can have and how it can be used, then and only then buy it.
I don't know how many demons and other spirits will be hanging around by it and if it will effect your sleep if its right by your bed or not.
I don't think their is any certain set way to arrange things.  You probably shouldn't stab yourself in the hand with your ritual dagger like I did 2 weeks ago.
