I am planning to create a self-hypnosis track which involves me entering the tetha state of trance instantly or in under 5 minutes. I am asking if do I need to be in tetha state of trance or alpha is enough for self-hypnosis?
Alpha is a light trance state, while theta is a deep trance. Deep trance is better for self-hypnosis. Keep in mind that while you're in a trance state, you must be completely relaxed and free from sudden noise or touch. A private space is crucial for trance work.
Instead of using an AI voice, I recommend using your own voice because it's more natural and will influence your subconscious better. Find a quiet place and record your hypnosis there. Also, check the hypnosis section on ToZ.
You do not need to be in a deep trance state for self-hypnosis to work, although it would certainly be more effective the deeper you are in trance, as long as you can concentrate effectively in a deep trance state. If not, an alpha state for self-hypnosis should be completely fine.
Honestly, I found that entering a trance and literally just affirming mentally what I wanted changed in the same manner as hypnosis would was extremely powerful and effective, but know this you need to get into a REALLY deep trance, like it should take at least twenty minutes to get into such a trance.

To do self hypnosis, it's enough to do affirmations before going to bed and after you wake up, as the mind is waking up or getting ready to enter/exist a state of sleep/trance-like.
But the deeper is the trance, greater is the effect. I think the best thing to do is to develop the trance ability in the natural way, as explained in Temple of Zeus.
