Family schizophrenia

AvatarAsk Zeus Operator1 min to read

My father has schizophrenia. I hate it how it affects us, psychologically, financially, mentally. He already has it when I was a kid. I don’t have any father figure. I’ve read that I can do God ritual to connect and understand masculinity. I’m female, btw.

Do you have any other suggestion how to deal with this? Is there a chance that this mental illness can be inherited? I’m sick of all the frustration his causing us.

The rituals for Thoth and Kheiron as well as rituals for Poseidon and Sea Gods can help. If you’re dedicated, praying thoughtfully to the Gods to help also helps. I know from experience as I myself am diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder (it’s schizophrenia but with mood swings bipolar stuff baked in basically)

And I’ve been going strong in Zevism for almost five years even without medicine despite this.

Im getting some medicine later this month, and I would never advise anyone who has these issues or a loved one with them not to take medicine.

With proper medicine and with the help of the Gods it can absolutely be overcome.

Veni, Vidi, Viki and Above All Keep the Flame, for Lady Vesta is the fire, and she keeps all those that keep Her.

That type of medicine only causes harm. The reason you feel less effects from your diagnosis is because you are basically sedated from all the dopamine blockers. There are numerous moviments started by doctors trying to prohibit anti psychotic medicine, its also going to wreck your libido in the long run. This is just a suggestion.

This is the targeted message.

I deleted some of the replies in this thread because they were written by people who do not understand mental health, and gave advice that is harmful. Reading a few things about health and giving an opinion based on limited understanding, can do more harm than good.

Mental health is not something that can be easily solved with some kundalini yoga, in fact this can be detrimental especially if you don't know what you're doing.

Do not take health advice from people who are not qualified, and are not able to examine you in real life. Even if someone is an expert in this field, they still need to examine you in real life. There is no one-size-fits-all solution that is so simple to fix mental illness.

Here in the ToZ we care about your well-being, so we are not going to allow people to post harmful medical advice that are pushed as "facts" when they are not facts, they are opinions based on limited information, or wishful thinking.

I give you my condolences for your father's condition. Unlike many, I can actually speak of some first hand experiences here, as a family member of mine has fully diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia and has spent time institutionalized.

First off, I would like to reassure you and say, schizophrenia isn't typically something that's directly passed down. Yes, you can inherit certain genetic risk factors, but there is no single "schizophrenia gene". From my reading on the subject, the risk factor for having a schizophrenic parent is about a 6-10% chance for their children, but this can depend on so many factors I wouldn't stress myself worrying about, for one key reason: many of the triggers are environmental, including birth complications, childhood trauma/stress and drug use. If this doesn't describe you in any heavy way, you're generally a lower risk case. Of course, the sensible thing to do here, given you have the knowledge, is to seek professional medical advice if ever you're worried about having symptoms. Yes, things we can recommend here like Yoga are great for managing stress and emotional wellbeing, but always seek actual licensed advice first and foremost.

To regard my own history. An uncle of mine who has the disease found himself homeless, which was unsurprising, given how he tended to live in squalor and was very hostile to those around him. Being sympathetic, for a few months, he lived on my property. Even with all the patience in the world, this situation was not sustainable. Eventually, it became a risk factor to myself and the rest of my family. Now, he did indeed have some issues as a child, but undoubtedly his condition was severely worsened by adolescent drug abuse, and a refusal to treat his condition medically after his time spent in an institution.

My point is, I won't lie to you. This is a challenging situation to live with. Take care of yourself as best as you can. If you're living with your father, make sure you have at least a few hours out of the house a day if you can. Having also dealt with family members with dementia, even caring for single sick person is not a one man job. If there's any caregiving responsibility on you, reach out for what support you can. Hopefully, your father is someone who actually seeks or will seek actual treatment for his condition. Speaking purely anecdotally, I noted myself there were good days and bad days. I also noticed more unstable tendencies used to come out at night, or especially around the time of the Full Moon (this is regarded as superstition, but I noticed even my grandparents with dementia acted differently around that time as well).

As you are a Zevist, please always remember the Gods are out there. During my time dealing with my own situation, was one of the times I felt their presence most heavily.

Someone did not fully understand what I wrote.

You can't tell someone to do one Kundalini yoga exercise and say that it will cure them of schizophrenia. I do believe mental illness can be alleviated and even cured, but it takes more than a simple suggestion of one kriya without even knowing the person.

"The energy centers when out of balance cause all kinds of problems physically and mentally."

Yes, but it is not just the lower 3 chakras as you claimed. There is also the Ajna chakra, and the brain itself. Claiming that performing Sat Kriya will cure schizophrenia, is reckless and harmful advice.

You said it can easily bring the system into balance, this is not true, it can take a long time. Kundalini yoga can also be triggering for many people, this is a fact stated by those who are experts in Kundalini yoga. I did not make a blunder as you claimed.

"I did not state for this person to not take or seek psychiatric care." "Saying I do not understand something and am not qualified while also not providing any alternatives is a huge blunder"

My reply was not just to you, but to the others as well.

"Congrats on inspiring me for a lifelong journey of proving you wrong"

You won't be proving me wrong, I have always said that I believed advancement can cure many things. In fact you will be proving me right.

I can't imagine being so sensitive that you start focusing your entire life around opposing someone else because they corrected you once, civilly
