I was just watching something about the colouseum in rome and wondered about animal cruelty in pagan cultures. Satan teaches to treasure and respect animals right? And ancient roman gods are demons who convey these messages I thought, my real question here is how much do the gods intervene with the civilizations that embrace them? Do they directly tell us when we're doing something wrong and such?

I can only speak for myself, but when I am doing something wrong and don't know it, or about to tread on a incorrect and/or harmful path, the Gods always find a way to get to me, so I can stop or pull back from it.

So then why would the gods let a civilization abuse animals in such a way? I'm not spamming or trolling I'm just genuinely curious.
