Ritual went wrong?

Hello, i did "Making a commitment to Satan" ritual, i followed every step, and did everything correctly, and yet when i had to burn the paper, fire of candle went crazy, i couldn't put it out, i had to put candle outside and do it with snow, because each time i tried put out fire, it got even worse, it looked like it would explode any time. I got kind of scared, and now im curious, is it some kind of sign, or just a coincidence? Sorry for my bad english, in country where i live, we don't learn english, so i do it myself.
