Really, Really Hot Energy?

A couple days ago I was meditating, and whilst meditating on my chakras I figure I must've empowered my base chakra a bit; it started getting hot.. hotter, and eventually it felt like someone was pressing a searing hot pan against my lower back. I figured, I might as well try and raise the energy upwards, and see what'd it do if I directed it through all my chakras. 
Well, long story short, I raised it to my Sacral, up my spine, and I felt a great deal of pain. I thought it'd be a good idea to stop so I didn't push myself too far and end up hurting myself.
Your thoughts on this? I find it might be Kundalini Energy, but I wanna hear what you guys might think.

Happens to me whenever I use a sun mantra and sometimes randomly. Especially if I focus on my solar chakra. Yes it is most likely kundalini energy. Did it make your hair stand on end?
