Check out occult and new age shops. They have a decent selection of incense. You can also check out Whole Foods, they should have some incense, although it might cost more. Look around Chinatown too, or in Thai/Tibetan shops that sell clothing and stuff, they sometimes have incense and cases to put them in.
I wouldn't trust dollar stores or cheapie places for incense, because the incense WILL be cheap.
Burning cheap incense SMELLS cheap, and IS an insult to the Gods. Better not to burn incense then cheap incense. What you pay for is what you get most of the time, when it comes to this stuff. That's my experience anyways.
