Anywhere they sell good string and beads. You need 108 beads of a small
size, and 12 bigger ones. Group the small beads in groups of 9, and
place a large bead between groups. You need something big to mark the
start/finish point.
Or, anything that helps you keep track of your count will do. You could
take 108 objects that can be dumped on a table and replaced in a
container one at a time as you complete one repetition. For the money
working, for instance, I have the idea of taking a small bottle and
placing 108 dimes in it. When I do something requiring 108 reps, I dump
the dimes on the table and replace them into the jar, one at a time, as
I complete the reps. When I run out of dimes on the table, I am
finished. The purpose is to prevent you from losing your place--you
don't want to be 70 or 80 reps in and lose your place. That's why you
have these devices--to make sure you know how many you have left. With
the Rosary, once you reach the large Baphomet, you are finished. With
the dimes, once you run out of dimes on the table, you are finished.
Serves the same purpose.
And nothing is totally foolproof. It is still possible to inadvertently
skip a bead or get hung up on a single bead. With the dimes, you could
lose one, miscount the number (same with beads--it is possible to place
10 instead of 9, or 8 instead of 9, on your rosary), or forget to
deposit the dime into the jar once you are finished with that rep. But,
it works better for most of us than counting in your head. Counting on
my fingers--fine, for workings that require something like 8 or 15 reps,
or even 30. After that, it begins to get dicey.
