If you want to draw energy then it is best to draw pure energy from the sun, for example. NPCs have polluted auras.

No, that's called being a parasite and a thief. It's worse than being a pickpocket because people need energy to survive.

Regardless of ethics, this does not even work. Because you would become so contaminated by the souls, karmic patterns, and energies of all the other people that you wouldn't be your self anymore. Your self would be suppressed and highly damaged. Your thoughts, emotions, and opinions would disappear and be replaced by other people's. And all of the curses and bad influences of those people would be stuck to you.

And it would all be for nothing because nothing good would even be accomplished. Whatever piece of energy you got, it would be such a mess of completely different energies going in different directions that it would be worthless.
