Do Gods feel ‘negative’ emotions?

I understand that they feel sadness and so on, but what is exactly different about it? Is it the way they manage emotions? Or is the feeling altogether completely different?

Sometimes I feel emotions in too depth and I’m not sure what to do with them.

They can feel whatever they want.

[Then, he got this sort of sad look on his face and said] "I know, they equate that with me."

He just wanted to show Maxine that they hate and don't like the current situation on Earth.
So they can feel or show "bad" emotions if it's needed, but they are in 100% controll.
