I would offer a somewhat different perspective. Lucifer has also been called by a lot of other names and associated with the Morning Star, Enlightenment, a guiding light, etc.  There are many who see the story of Lucifer as a retelling of the story of Prometheus and was the spiritual mentor of humanity because he would rather see mankind free to think for themselves rather than be slaves to the christian god.
Is it true? Is it real? /shrug Who knows?  I could only tell you that I have gotten alot out of interacting with "Father" from the context of this paradigm.  If "he" has an issue with it, he has never bothered to mention it during our 30 years together in this life.
