Hi,

I don't see the health forum here anymore so I will post it here instead.

Ever since 2019 I've had issues with my period not stopping and or me getting cysts in my ovaries. I've been diagnosed (yes medically, went to a professional) with having PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).

Back in 2023 it didn't stop so badly I nearly bled to death, lost a lot of blood, went from the normal 4.5-5 liters of blood to just down to 2.35 liters and even when I got to the hospital the doctors had a hard time stopping the bleeding.

Now I've had it last year again, but the doctor prescribed to me medicine that stopped it for the time being and now this year it has returned again.

This keeps happening, how do I stop this from happening?? I'm so tired of having constant period every single day...

I know a doctor can prescribe me medicine to take to stop it from happening, but it just keeps happening..

I am not a doctor, but your situation seems to require long-term treatment or perhaps even surgical procedures. There are many solutions for your condition.

You need to go back to your doctor, or perhaps even consult a different one. It is the only way forward. Do whatever is necessary to ensure a decent quality of life. I wish you well. May the Gods watch over you. Please provide an update on your health status. 🙏🏻

I did go see a doctor afterall, they said I should be on progesterone long term to help manage heavy periods.

I'm sorry sister, I know it is horrible.

Did the doctors stopped their research for cause on PCOS? Did they send you to be tested for blood clotting issues like recessive hemophilia in women (it is carried in X chromosome so if men have it is obvious bot for women, they have one normal X chromosome and one with the defect, so it can manifest in a variety of ways and not constantly) or any other possibility to hematology department? If they have not, you might need to get tested for it. Not stopping bleeding might be related to your blood's clotting issues and not related to gynaecology.

Not worry too much but get it checked when you have the chance.

They did blood work, glucose water test on me to find out about if I do have the pcos or not and I do, after that, no more tests.

I'll ask my doctor about getting more tested, hopefully they'll agree.

I was told I need to be on progesterone long term to manage heavy bleeding.

I know it can be tiring and draining to keep doing visits and treatments, but health must not be absolutely overlooked.

I just wondered if there was a working I could of done to help manage this, but I guess it isn't plausible.
